It's just a pity that quite a lot of NAs happen to think that Drks > Mnks for melee dmg purely because of the fact that drk is an adv job.

I very strongly disagree with that because from what ive seen drks although they do a lot of dmg (when they hit) their accuracy unless well equipped is god damn AWFUL.

It's just hard to actually tell people this because a lot of people are ignorant on the Bismarck server and refuse to believe it.

not to mention we don't get a decent WS till lvl 60, we get two of em...that's another thing, us DRK are flexible being we have two weapons, can fit into almost any skillchain. Either way at lvl 66 things get pretty tied out, with DoT MNK do more but the avarage fight doesn't last long enough for them to get that dmg...by the time we skillchain, they probably have done...300 more, Dragon Kick for 500, Spinning Slash for 1k+1k...who did more?

ya...I don't want an army of them that get the idea that DRK suck compared to MNK 24/7. Another thing lots of people don't mention is if you exp in the sky 70-75 instead of bones. You fight Arcana up there, which is our specialty...from what I hear, we do to them what you do to bones

According some of the overly defensive darks around you need to go to your mog house. "Change job" > "Main" > "Dark Knight"

The reason people compare their damage to dark is because they, like monk, are known hard hitters, and known for ferocious SCs (after 60). No one EVER says "lets get that DRK, cuz he has 'Stun'" or "Let's get DRK he can magic burst his own SC." or "Let's get that DRK he can Abosorb AGI/VIT." Those are bonusses of the DRK job. Take advantage of them, earn a reputation and get invites... But TYPICALLY people get DRK for simple out DAMAGE before 60. And dmg/hate control after 60 (even more so after 66).

THUS DRG (who everyone agree is "gimped") aren't compared to DRK anymore. SAM aren't (same are for SC and decent dmg). WAR aren't (though...they can hit prettttty damn hard.) and RNG aren't typically, because....they're "ranged" not "melee" per se.
Leaving....you guessed it...monk. The fact of the matter is a well equipped monk on non bones, can get near you in damage. We don't have 6 attack bonuses...and yet we can still put up a fight.

You are our best friends in bones fights, and you are also out friendly competitor. Only...in the forums, it's not so friendly.

I personally love a DRK, my static DRK is great...and we DON'T bicker over numbers. We're too busy keeping that damn PLD on her toes busting those mobs up like a bull in a china shop. >_>
Why the hell other DRK and MNK can't get along like that...I don't know.

i really wish i'd parsed some parties at all stages of my drk career. I'm pretty sure it would have shown that drk has the LOWEST DOT of any melee except samurai, until at least mid 60's. The gap in that chart looks a bit larger than i had envisioned, but i'm not completely surprised. Almost looks like the drk forgot to eat kabobs or something.

DRKs are an amazing class for the tools they bring to a party. Ungerpurr never said otherwise, but tampon-wearing DRKs come in and go on the offensive all the same.

wth I didn't say anything derogitory in my last statement yet I get attacked for it? This subject has been beaten to death so many times it's not funny. I don't want to make this into another one of those threads like the last one that was posted. All I had to say was that she had Cross Counters, which are waaaaay better than Bone Scyth and it's no suprise to me that she outdmged that DRK. The other stuff I posted was just to add on to Bside's post, the way I took it but I guess I read that wrong anyways. Whatever, both are good at their own thing and both are good dmg dealers...god forbid I say that!

I can guarantee without question that if she wore T.M. Hooks or whatever level appropriate weapon it is her range that' also happens to be "Hisdon-approved," she'd still have outdamaged that DRK.

Pay attention to the chart, its all right there spelled out clearly. The damage margin on it is much greater than even the higher base damage (+3/+4 depending on the weapon) that Cross Counters allows for. Clearly, the DRK himself was no slouch evidenced by the gear mentioned.

Why do many DRKs always look for excuses? Everytime a MNK parser has been posted (not only on this forum) its always the DRKs coming in with some excuse.

I agree that threads like the retarded one you linked to are pointless. Just tired of MNKs being disrespected by ignorant people (not by you per se, Hisdon).
