AF Coffers....

I heard that it takes a long time to get keys and then find coffers in Beadeaux, Garliage, Crawlers Nest, and I think Eldieme for mnk. I was wondering if I could change to my level 15 thf and get a whm to sneak me to my coffers and pick them with a skeleton key. Is that possible? Does my thf need to be higher even with a skeleton key? I used thf tools on chests in Gusgen for RSE, but they never worked. So I bought a skeleton key and thought maybe they'd be put to better use for AF coffers. If 15 is too low would 25 or 30 work? Or do you haveto use keys as your main job anyways :confused: thanks for any answers lol :sweat:

You can't use thf main to open coffers to obtain AF for other jobs ^_^

Well for starters, Crawler's Nest key will come by unexpected since you will indeed hunt the mobs that drops the key when you exp around 50s. So that part is cutted out.

The pain part could be Bedeaeux. Garliage is bad but the mobs that drops except for weapons are not that bad. We don't have any Eledieme coffer so thats at least a plus.

No you can't. I have confirmation of that from a THF who did PLD next. You have to open coffers as the job the coffer item is for. I.e. if you open the Oz coffer as THF and you need the DRK item, you don't get the DRK item, you get either gil or an astral ring.

That's just an example. You MUST be the job to obtain the AF from that coffer. You'd also know this if you were in a spot w/ multiple AF in the coffer in your party. What I mean, is I was partied (as MNK) w/ RDM & WHM in Garlaige behind the 3rd banishing gate. We all had a coffer key. Whoever opened the coffer, got their AF in the party and we all saw a message like "Soandso is the only person able to handle the healer's cap. Soandso obtains a healer's cap." "Soandso is the only person able to handle the warlock's tights. Soandso obtains the warlock's tights." "Talus is the only person able to handle the temple crown. Talus obtains a temple crown." Get it?

You can get coffer keys and do AF1-3 as another job (say I reroll RDM, I can do RDM AF 1-3 as Monk), but all the coffers must be opened as RDM. I can still get the non-coffer (quest) key items as my monk.
