Equipment Priority at 40.

Hey all,

I'm fast approaching 40, and will likely be 40+ over the weekend. I've acquired my Ochiudo's Kote, and am now being faced with yet another daunting task: Earning towards a Fuma Kyahan (100k), Jujitsu Gi (120k), Brown Belt (300k-400k) (Ragnarok prices). At this point I consider Puissance Rings a luxury and will not try and acquire them through farming.

Of the 3 items, which is most important for my Monkly business?

I'm already wearing a Purple Belt, and have over 60 STR (Natural + Items + Food) and about 45 DEX. I know Brown Belt is still a tremendous item, but between the 3, I am very close to being able to afford Fuma Kyahan or Jujitsu Gi (not both at the moment).

So, please help me make a choice. Do I buy a Juji Gi, or a Fuma Kyahan right away, or skip them both and save for Brown Belt. Rank the 3 items in order of importance to a Monk for me. Thank you.

P.S. At 38 I'm using Impact Knuckles. I know that a Dmg Dealer should always upgrade weapons first, but I've read (from these forums) that Impact Knuckles will last me until Patas+1.

well, im a 42 monk and im wearing an Earth doublet and CC slacks, a purple belt, and i use impact knuckles. I have looked into other weapons and have found that i just plain like these knuckles better. i really shud spend the time on getting a jujitsu gi but i think it looks terrible, like the sitibaki, so i didnt get them (lol, appearance takes presedence over functionality). but hey, i dont have many monks at my lvl, and the few that i've noticed on my server cant even come close to out damaging me. im not saying im the best or anything because my equipment is less than charming... i forgot wut ur question was and ive typed this much @_@ ill repost the answer sorry

Thats #1 on my list atm.. I've just hit 40. And I'm saving up for all that equipment. I can give you the priority that I've put on the items. Then you can decide how it would help you in your monkey biznaz

1. Brown Belt
Def 3 STR +5 Haste +8%
I'm Hume so I have to worry about STR. Thats why I'd give this one some consideration. Tho its mighty expensive..

2. Jujitsu Gi
Def 27 Accuracy +4
Accuracy! Its always good to complement Attack and STR with a little bit of Accuracy.

3. Fuma Kyahan
Def 7 Haste +3%
If you went for the Brown Belt you already have the boost in Haste and to me 4 DEF for the cost of 5 STR isn't so bad. The only plus point is the low price (if you can call it low). Heck even purple belt has +4% haste.

There you have it. My two cents on the topic. But I haven't acquired any of the items here yet so my opinion is just based on what I believe and not experience.

The price of a Fuma Kyahan came as a big shock to me as well. I could've sworn I saw it listed at ~25k. :sweat:

Well on my server is a little screwy since Jujitsu Gi is actually cheaper than the fuma kyahans.

In order of importance i would say

1. Jujitsu Gi

2. Brown Belt

3. Fuma Kyahan.

Yes impact knuckles will last you until patas. I have all 3 plus life belt, and i find myself switching to life belt everytime i dont think im hitting as much as i should, thats why i put brown belt second, that and your purple belt still has decent stats.

Gi

Fuma

You can go your whole career without the Fuma's. MNK don't get a lot of +Accuracy items so we have to make good the ones we do get. The belt is godly, but as someone else said you won't be using it on every mob type. The Gi is the most solid buy at your point.

Is it the same order for a Hume?

I am at the same point as the original poster, and I have almost the same dilema... However at this point I have a daunting question: what about the Hume RSE?

Custom (Body Armor)
+3 STR +3 DEX +HP

Hume RSE Gloves
+3 STR +3 DEX +HP

Would you realy trade these stats for +4 acc and +20 att?

err.. Hume RSE body does't plus any to Str or Dex. Only the Gloves +3Str + 3Dex.

You need the Purple belt quest to do the Brown Belt quest right? Do you think a level 55 Rng can solo Purple and Brown belt quest?

lol! I'm almost at the same frame of mind looking at your signature. I'm not going to lvl more than 41 after I get all items mentioned above. Moreover its a ballista thing. Don't want to look bad when I'm kicking butt ^^

MY BAD!

OH OH!!! I just checked again. Hume RSE Body Armor adds +HP and +VIT, not +DEX or +STR. That is only the Hume RSE Gloves!!

A 55 RNG could do both Purple and Brown belt quests. I did Brown at 56 MNK, and Purple at like 31 MNK.
