  • Monk Ability Guide...Anyone?

    I just wanted to point out that we don't have a sticky for a Monk ability guide... You know, something that would say what abilities a Monk gets and at what levels (a brief description might be nice too).

    I would write it, but I don't know it.

    Mage:
    55 Red Mage; 32 Black Mage; 27 White Mage.

    Enhances Accuracy

    Chakra: 35 | 0:05:00 | N/A
    Restores a small ammount of HP.

    Chi Blast: 41 | 0:03:00 | N/A
    Releases Chi to attack enemy.

    Counterstance: 45 | 0:05:00 | 0:05:00
    Greatly weakens defense but increases your chances of counterattacking.

    Sorry if it is kinda hard to read. I did the best I could O.o

        Or, if you want more specific details:

        Hundred Fists - Gives you zero attack delay, making for constant attacking.

        Boost - Increases base Attack by 12.5% per use. 25% with Temple Gloves equipped.

        Dodge - Gives a noticable increase in evasion (lack of evasion being a visible stat makes it impossible to determine the exact increase).

        Focus - Gives a noticable increase in accuracy (lack of accuracy being a visible stat makes it impossible to determine the exact increase). Equipping the Temple Crown makes the accuracy increase very large.

        Chakra - Restores HP equal to two times your total VIT and removes Blind and Poison. Temple Cyclas increases this to three times your VIT.

        Chi Blast - Does damage based on your MND and Attack. This is what you use Boost for.

        Counterstance - Greatly increases your chance to counterattack, but cripples your defense. Takes away approximately 5/6ths of your DEF (rough estimate).

          Temple Cyclas will also allow Chakra to remove Paralyze. Chakra can be lost to paralyze in the attempt, however.

              hey, i was wondering a bout the Kick job trait. i think i heard taht it was basically a standard attack without the extra dmg effect from ur weapon. also, i think i heard that double attack cant double your kick. is all this true? thanks

                I don't know about you, but the Temple Gloves doubled my Boost effect.

                Also, Kick Attacks gives you a very miniscule chance to do an extra attack every attack round, with no damage bonus from your weapons. You can, however, get boots that boost damage done by kick attacks, but kicks are so rare, I don't know if they'd be worth it.
