  • PS2 Monks?

Anyone taken up the art of h2h combat?
Rather enjoyable and pays off at high lvls...
Even tho the early lvls kinda stink...

If any of you are interested in playing monk I'll give you a bit of a suggestion...
Play warrior to at least 20 then go monk main when you get Sub-Job

    Zilart and CoP Missions Complete

Monks rock and are also good for lvling any subjob to 10. Odds are with the influx of PS2 players there should be enough party opportunities where lvling a monk or warrior first shouldn't be much of a deal... But yes having provoke early on will get you more invites because low lvl parties don't usually use 1 specific tank.

Well I just started Thursday and have played Monk and Warrior and both have been real fun but I like my Monk much more. Any tips for low level gear I should be trying to get?

Try to get the Cat Bangkakhs(sp?), they are really awesome, and they also look really cool.

Yeah, i started a monk on the PS2. I am only level 8 now though. I have the mnk/sam/nin only tunic, leggings, feet, and head equipment and the cat bangkakhs(spelling?)(you can kind of see it in my avatar). I am loving it. I also like how i kill monsters faster than anyone else around me lol.

I'm kinda a Ps2 Monk...I leveled Monk up to 8, then it seemed a little too repetitive, so I'm trying out RDM for now
              Money earned in Ifrit: 8k
              Time spent: 2 hours

Knowing you'll end up going back anyways: sad.

                      i'm a PS2 monk... started as a WAR tho.

It was so fun, I had to level it up to 5. Got the Cat thingys.

Monk is the most fun job I've played so far.
Ohh, how I look forward to a steady job in which i can support my Final Fantasy XI addiction once more...
