Beetle is pretty much the last good-looking set of armor until you can get jujitsu. Mercenary Captain's is a fairly standard look for the 30s, and it's not very exciting.
Once you get jujitsu gi/sitabaki and Ochiudo's Kote, though...damn, you look pimp. ^^
