Levelling up Monk (tropical punches)

Managed to spot 1 of these being sold in auction and somehow i had enough money tp swipe it up before anyone else (10k).

i cant use it untill 1 more level as i am 9 now... with +10 accuracy wouldn't this be the best weapon for a elvaan monk.. since he has not the greatest dex/accuracy and has good strength i would assume this weapon is a godsend for elvaan.

how many levels should i expect to keep this is my main weapon before i sell it.

i would like to know this because i want to save up for chainmail armour for my warrior and the 10k or so on these will come in handy when its time to get chainmail so i figure ill level my monk up untill the level i sell these.. then sell them and continue on with my warrior.

There are a lot of arguments about these cesti Personally, as an elvaan mnk, i'd keep them until lv.31, and use items to increase your STR. Alternatively, you can use a higher damage weapon, and use items to increase your DEX.

Nice! I'd say the next step is Bastokan Knucks at lvl15. I think the price has come down to 6k? That's only if you feel you need more damage - or you're hot to buy Chainmail for your WAR.

Otherwise, I'd say keep them until lvl20 and then get Cougar Bagnakhs. +10 acc is very good at lvls 10-20.

Finally got to use them from level 10 to level 11 fighting easy prey/decent prey and there is a big difference noticed right away... i went from hit,miss,hit,miss,hit,hit,miss to hit,hit,hit,hit.

you don't hit every single time but it is rare you miss twice or three times in a battle with easy/decent... i was noticing a huge uncrease.

but keep in mind this is easy/decent the true test will be when fighting IT's... i doubt i will be able to keep up the same type of precision but the +10 accuracy is definitely noticed. (isn't that like +20 dex?)

the no delay addition has to count for something too, no?

and monks get MA II at lvl20, right?

So wouldn't a stream of consistant, fast attacks be a godsend?

are they really only good 'till lvl20?

In Jeuno I saw tropical punches +1 ( 2 damage, 12 accuracy) in AH but they are way to high....600,000 gil. FFXI should have a bank loan system o somthin

I bought Tropical Punches a week or two ago. They are a god send. I probably won't replace them until level 30.

personally completly skipped them...
was using i think 6 attack 80 delay +3 str +2 acc claws from 10-32

and you really don't have much choice from there if your not rich other than impact knuckles
