  • Monk and a family...

I happen to work full time and also have a family to keep up with(so I dont get to pull the 5hours a day like a lot of FFO players)...

Problem Is I really like the sound of the monk class and I really want to play it but I'm unsure if I would have the time getting maybe 2-3hours max a day.

So how hard is it to get parties 10-20, 20-30, 30-40 and 40+?

I want to collect all the information I need to make use of the time I have...I already know to keep gear current and keep Mithkabobs around

    Any other tips?

get into linkshell with players around your level.. have a few good friends from begining of your vanadiel experience who will kick people out of their groups to let you in.....ummm....make your own group is the best advice i can give you ^_~

play late nights if possible..there are alot more people on and alot more people to invite you for group =D

hehe your like me, i only get about 2-3 hours a day if im lucky to play. ive been playing since 3 days after the release, lvl 27 monk/15 war is what ive gotten to. usually dont get to play much on the weekends, so theres a lot of play time missed. =)

definatly solo till your lvl 12 then head to the *dreaded*dunes so you can start partying. ive noticed having a higher rank and a sub class, at lvl 13-15 i got party invites a lot quicker from good parties(where everybody in the party were leveling thier sub job) and it helps. but the first time through the dunes its definatly a learning experience and horrible at the same time =) good luck finding a party there if your a melee. monks and wars are a dime a dozen there.
dont have many quests done, but i have current gear for my lvl, going to have to start doing quests to get my fame up, looking forward to some RSE.

definatly find a good link shell. the LS im in, some of those guys are hardcore players, ones already a freakin SAM lvl 63. guy must play 24/7 =) im one of the slower people in the LS, but theres quite a few people in the LS so right now im partying with them while they are leveling thier sub-job or any other job. its a cycle, im the slow one but at least every now and then i get some nice parties going with them =)

and yes kabobs are your friends. =)

The only time i can play is weekends, too busy weekdays. I put as much time as i can in and hey look! im lvl 34 with every Adv Job but SMN It is easier to make your own parties than wait for one, but its no always so easy. Search the region around you and not just the area you are in.

if u can start up your monk you can post (possibly in this thread) what server u r on. i'm sure some1 here would be glad to help you out. (if you get onto Phoenix (in windurst) u can send me a PM on these boards and i can help u out, if u are else in Phoenix (i.e., bastok) u can PM me and i might get a LSmate to help u.
