Best Starting City for a Monk?

Good point about the armor in windurst, and from my experience, not only is the armor nice and cheap there, ANYTHING but WHM/BLM/RDM is always in high demand there, so its very easy to find a group being a melee or tank class.

The best monk weapon from 1-30 are the Tropical Knuckles... If you have that kind of money go get it (worth 30k at my server) it gives 1 dmg but 0 delay making all your attacks like 2hour moves.. I recomend to start in Windurst when it comes to monk supplies.

sigh rico, no theres a base delay for h2h weapons hence the delay: +0 instead of delay: 0. this number lowers as your get martial arts jq at diff lvls.

Sorry for reviving an old topic but no one mentioned San Doria.

I read this in another post:

I'm not sure what country you are from, but this method works ideal if you are from San:

Wronfaure

1-3 - wild rabbits / tunnel worms
3 - 7 - Forest Hares / Carrion worms / Beetles / Funguars
7 - WIld Sheep
8- Orcs!

At Level 8 head to the NW part of WRonfaure to go to GhelsbaOp. Now just keep killing orcs / lizards until you get to L15. This WILL take ages, im not going to pretend it wont. However the amount of fire crystals / lizard tails you get in this place is rediculously high. From levels 10-15 I had to go back to San every level with, on average, 72 crystals (6 sets of 12). So for every level if the fire crystals are selling for 1.5k at the AH you are getting 9k for every level.

I did this with my thief and ended up with 60k in my bank when I hit L15. So this is a V nice bonus to getting into parties in getting the best gear/foods etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're getting 9k a level, wouldn't Tropical Punches, the best weapon from 11-30, be easily obtainable? Wouldn't this be the ideal spot?

Do the other cities have gold farming/leveling methods like this one (that are very profitable at low levels)?
