  • MNK/SAM or MNK/THF?

Hey, I've become really interested in Monks, but I want to know what the pros and cons of using SAM as a subjob would be. Would it be better than a THF subjob? Thanks a lot for your help!

    SAM isn't a sub job......its advanced :p
    so you can have both!

Advanced jobs can be sub jobs...you just must be level 30 and complete a quest to earn the right to have that job. Other than that Sam isnt a good sub-job...not enough TP gain and other...s Sam/Mnk would be a nice choice though

most sam abilities come before lvl 35 so i think mnk/sam would work well, but personally i still prefer mnk/thf, which is what im doing

the main advantage of thf as a sub is sneak attack and trick attack. but u can't use either before lvl 30 so i recommend war until then. but after lvl 30, ws combined w/ sneak attack is so strong, so i'd say it's a lot better than sam.

as for sam as a sub, u don't really have an advantage until lvl 60, when u can start using meditate, altough w/ store tp ability, u'll gain tp's faster. the main disadvantage is that if u use weapon skills too often, it'll be difficult for a tanking player to get the mob's target. also, ws w/ a sneak attack is usually 50-100% stronger than using without, so it's better to use sneak and trick attack together for stronger attack AND put the ws' hate onto the tanking player.

this is just my opinion, so u got to choose for urself, though.
