btw, I was wondering about the stats, because I was wondering what would help compliment it as a subjob.

is the dragoon gunna be playable when we first get the game(i mean after lvl 30) or are we gunna have to wait for an expansion and ive wanted to be a dragoon since Kain from ffIV

Dragoon, Ninja and Samurai are Expansion Only.

At first, I was all for Dragoons...

Now, after playing next to hundreds of them for the past two weeks, I am sick of them. A job that has sparked my interest as of recently is Ninja. I saw one in action the other day, and they were kicking some serious ass.

Summoner is also expansion, although you can become one without it you can't get any other summons that carbuncle

One can only hope, but the JPs and the Impos wont like it.

Oh, and I really, really, REALLY want to know how a sub-job effects the dragoon's dragon (or the dragoon itself in a way that I've missed.)

I personally think dragoons suck. They have always sucked in the ff games. They never did enough damage quick enough and they were always boring as hell to play. Dragoon would be a perfect sub job for a ranger though (because its got the phys att up and the higher hite rate). As for it being a main job, well.....

The only thing dragoons have going for them is a spear and a really cool winged helmet. This is all my opinion of course.

Lone Dragon, the subjob wont effect the dragon at all. There might be some stat bonuses that a subjob might add to the Dragoon, and that might help make your dragon more powerful (i cant verify this however), but other then that, your subjob wont add anything special to it. Subjobs just give you a few extra skills and some added stat bonuses.

According to my Dragoon friend dudette, sub job does effect what the Dragon does. For example, if you sub WHM your Dragon will use curative spells. I can't remember what they use for the other jobs though.

Yea, I've heard of that one from a few people (and I thank you for it), but I'd really like some other combos and how it effects the dragoon.

here's the real stuff:

Your main job has priority, all equipment follows main job specifications so no robes for DRG/WHM for example.

If your Sub job has special abilities of magic, then you can use them.

If you want to use a weapon that your subjob can use, but your main can't, then you can't use it.

Your subjob will be half the level of your main job MAXIMUM. no exceptions.

Any job can be a subjob, the end.
