I wouldn't say that all AF is bad. PLD AF is the best thing for a very long time, you never need to wear something else.... well until you get Relic armor ˆˆ. I'm sure mages feel the same about their AF until they hit the high 60's.
I think most melee classes don't like their AF cause it doesn't give them +attk or +acc. So most people just get their AF for show, or cause it's free. Then upgrade ASAP.If you define cowardice as running away at the first sign of danger, screaming and tripping and begging for the enemy no not see you. Then yes, Mr. Braveman, I guess I'm a coward

I think AF is one of the few armor sets that actually look decent for DRGs.
Centurion scale set looked great, but after that, I don't think there is a single set that doesn't look crappy until AF.
I absolutely hate Brigandine after being stuck with it for 10+ levels.
Scorpion looks nice, but I think it's safe to say it's beyond the ability of most first-time-through DRGs to get short of farming for a year or getting incredible luck with NMs.
Post-AF, Carapace looks nice IMHO. Can't comment on anything after that.Comment
