  • Spark Polearm & Shield

I've looked everywhere for an answer to my question, and I have yet to find an answer on any forums. So here is my 1st topic post.

I have seen Paladines using a Spark Polearm in one hand and a shield in the other. Can Dragoon's use a Shield provided they are using Spark Polearms.

Thanks for any answers u may have.

I am doing this right now to see how it works, and here is what I know...

Any two handed weapon that has the Spark ability (needing batteries) is really onehanded, equip the weapon first then the shield (or 1-H weapon if you have NIN subed) and there ya go.

Also no if you are DRG you can no use shields so no that would not work.

PS: NIN not tested yet but will as soon as I get NIN and get it to 10 ^.^

Thx Kailea for trying this out^^

I would try this out except for lack of gils and levels.

      Gracias m(_ _)m

It's actually a bug in the game and you will get banned for exploiting it.

You can't equip shield. Therefore, the spark+shield is out of the question. As for subbing ninja and trying to dw, nope.. can't do it. Tried it, didn't work ;(

How do spark weapons work anyhow? is it like Enthunder? Also how long do the batteries last?

Works the same way as enthunder, but much more powerful (20-35 added damage from my spark lance). Unfortunately each spark drains a battery, so it's very expensive.

                Warrior L30, Dragoon L45+, Thief L70+, Paladin L25+, Monk L15+, Ninja L35+ , Ranger 40+

Batteries, even the lowest-level ones, seem to go for 200-300 gil apiece on Phoenix. So the spark weapons cost that much per hit? Ouch. That's worse than a lot of the hyper-expensive throwing ammo. It's a good deal of added damage, but no wonder no one uses them. (Although I admit that if there were a Spark Mace or somesuch, I'd buy one for the novelty. )

I dunno about after the patch, but before it, I am pretty sure you could duel wield PLM (I MUST TRY THIS.) And I am 100% sure you can use a shield (PLD/WAR only.)
