DRG sub?

I was thinking about being DRG/DRK but I dunno if it would work. Would it be a good combo or is DRG/SAM better? Any help would be appreciated.

But anyway its been beaten to death for ages so here we go again. Samurai sub to a Dragoon isn't especially useful until DRG is level 60 so you can use Meditate. No one seems to want to try out DRK sub job to say why it is or isn't good, personal opinion is Berserk is better than Last Resort, and the ATK bonuses aren't hugely different until DRK is level 50 I believe so at best you'd get a second ATK bonus trait with a sub job. Warrior is great sub job for any level really. Thf sub pre level 50 is *ok*, but warrior is definately better post 50. Sneak attack isn't really that great when thf is subbed.

So yea, 1-60, warrior sub in my opinion. Also viable post 60, I haven't tried being 60 with a Samurai sub (since I'm not 60) but it also seems viable. Probably stick to warrior sub since it seems pretty consistantly effective.

sneak and trick attack dont work the same way they do as THF main job so dont bother with THF unless you are farming gil

What I'm wondering though is would I be able to do more dmg as DRG/DRK or DRG/SAM.

if theres one rule to live by for a dragoon, its dont sub it, just dont do it. the main reason to use a dragoon is for the wyvern, at least until you can go drg/sam and spam pentas. i would say go drg/war til 60, then drg/sam. thief is a good sub for several classes since sneak and trick do up damage a substantial ammount, but i just dont see it as being a good sub for a dragoon. also drk's dont really make much of a sub. maybe at higher levels i could see it working to boost damage, but i think war it better. but the time you can sub drk and have it be useful, samurai will be better

I don't think you guys understand me here... I DO NOT want to sub DRG I want to know a good SUB for a DRG (other than SAM I already know that) also I wanted to know if you do more with REGULAR SINGLE attacks if you sub DRK. Thats all I want to know.

look at the skills they get and see for yourself you retard. war sam and thief are the only viable subs really. everything else the other 3 can do better

Dragoon Sub

Ragnarok54321 sorry for all the idiots who misunderstood the post and the jerks. The best subs for dragoon that I have found are warrior and thief. Warrior for a sub will boost your defence and thief will boost your attack rate. I plan on being a DRG/THF myself, hit em hard and hit em fast. Note thought that I do NOT have the game this is based on research. It took me 5 months to decide on a DRG/THF over a DRG/WAR. Anyway hope that helped.

Sorry but how does thf improve attack rate? It improves accuracy by a bit for it's Dex but the Dex difference isn't big enough difference as what beserk can give you.

DRK sub seems ok, although beserk > last resort, but soul eater + penta thrust sounds awesome, although ur tank may have hate control problem.

I still like SAM sub for pentathrust and more ws w/ party members.

What about Drg/monk? Im about to get my subjob tonight but dont want to go through the pain of lvling a theif so I want a sub that will compliment warr or visaversa till I get drg then i'll sub sam eventually.

Just sub warrior. The end. Until 60 nothing will really be better, it just won't. THF sub is a waste, seriously it is. Just level a warrior if you want the "optimal" sub. Post 60 is the only time Samurai might have an advantage to warrior sub but even then it is sort of an either or thing and either has advantages at that level.

Sorry bout that 5 months of research guy, THF in no way is a better sub of the 3 ever. Just isn't a big enough damage improvement for a damage dealing job even at low levels, choice doesn't REALLY matter until 30, and berserk is still better by then.

I agree with WAR>THF, but a lot of NA DRGs seem to be going DRG/THF more than DRG/WAR.

I've tried both actually, and I really miss my Berserk and Double Attack when I sub THF. I don't think Sneak Attack and marginally better DEX make up for the loss of those two abilities, but that's just my two cents.
