Hi. Have an elvaan drg/war. Stat differences at level 70 drg/war for mithra vs elvaan are:
Mithra 71 str, 77 dex
Elvaan 83 str, 60 dex
But to be realistic, let's try level 30:
Mithra 34 str, 36 dex
Elvaan 40 str, 28 dex
Preferred food of choice in both cases are meatkabobs, giving +5 str, so...
Mithra 39 str, 36 dex
Elvaan 45 str, 28 dex
Assume that equipment is the same, because we will not get into the whole argument about 'equipment will even out the stats', because, one, dex/acc equipment is ungodly expensive, and two, simple math says that Mithra will always be ahead in the dex/acc game.
Now tell me, how does 6 str compare against 8 dex? There is a reason why tiger stoles are so cheap in comparison to spike necklaces, even though tiger stoles give +5 attack vs the +3 dex on spike necklaces. The reason is something that even a lowbie like myself can understand (having played similar online games where accuracy was king), and it is this:
The accuracy of hits is more important than the damage dealt per hit. The more hits you land, the more damage you are doing. Also, tp is charged at a fixed rate based on weapon, not on damage dealt, and I understand that weapon skills become extremely important at higher levels. Also, it was said that pentathrust is something that dragoons live for at level 49, and that ws depends on accuracy to hit and give back tp.
So, that said, what do you guys think about starting over a level 19/9 drg/war? I mean, make a mithra from scratch, power her up using my resources, then transfer all my stuff over to her when she's good to go. It'll probably take 2 weeks of play to do all that, I think. More if I want to eat or sleep, lol. Think it's worth it, so that I get the highest possible dex for a dex-dependent job?
