ok right now im a DRG/SAM but not 60/30 like i should be...

I have a WAR lvl 30 and i really wanna sub it on my drg cuz its supposed to be better to level 60 right? but the problem is.. Some people INSIST that i tank as a drg when alot of my items are -evasion -def +atk +dex ... Around what level do people start paying attention to detail in parties and choosing specific jobs instead of just throwing 5 random people together with a whm like in qufim?

What level do I have to get to before start learning how to play parties? I'm almost ready to quit because i met someone level 56 leveling a subjob with me and he COULD NOT form a party. I can't wait until people start learning to put together parties correctly or at least decent parties that dont consist of 4rdm a whm and a drg tank...

BTW what should i equip on my waist and where should i go to level for best xp around level 30? I know Batallia but is there a better spot?

Go to Kazahm. Great exp to around 31-32.

I've been the main tank for few PTs all the way up to worker crawlers, around Lv37 or so. At one point in my mid-high 30s, there was a distinct lack of tanks available, though now the shortage has gone back to WHMs...

Tanking back then wasn't too bad using full centurion set (minus the gloves - still using Battle Gloves - should I switch to something more up to date? I can't seem to find anything better...).

Past that, I seem to be getting mauled when I am forced to voke.

Those people are idiots if they think a sub job can make a certain job tank or not.

Drg/War can be a back up provoker, for an emergency in a grp.

Best thing about war sub in my opinion is berserk. Over 30 its a pretty big increase to ATK which is a nice boost to damage. Yes sadly there are people who think warrior sub = tank. You can get away with tanking sort of til around 30, but even then it isn't idea. I like the war sub in general just because it is good all around utility with provoke, def bonus, double attack, even defender can be useful on the rare occasion if you have to tank because your tank gets 1 rounded by a special ability, or just if you agro to soften the blow a bit. It really seems the 1 sub job you can't go wrong with at all dragoon levels.

One thing I definately noticed by the 40's is people actually caring who is in their party (what job, what sub job, how good equipment is). The most logical explanation seems to be need more exp per level, lose more on deaths, so better formations make this less of an annoyance. I think when people realize any 6 random people just isn't effective they care about group composition. So it should get better, unless your server is just chock full of morons.

As far as places to go at 30, I went to East Altepa to do Spiders/beetles for a while. Was good exp. Move up to the lowbie anticans I think at 32 or 33. I tried a Davoi group at 30, exp was fine, just the people in the party were dumb and died to silliness. I like Altepa a lot, give it a try. Made I think 4 levels over a day exping there.

And belts...I don't recall. I think I used a Lizard Belt to fill the slot til 43 when I snagged a sword belt and just replaced that with a life belt. There doesn't seem to be a great belt selection for DRG til the 40's so don't worry a ton about it. As far as battle gloves, I've yet to see anything better even by high 40's, and most DRG I know still use them. Hard to come by decent quantity accuracy items as it is, and for how cheap the gloves are worthy purchase for a lot of levels it looks like.
