whats wrong with my Penta Thrust damage

Ok im a lvl 49 elvaan draggon. I have items that increase my str to 62 and my dex to 54. my penta thrust at most does 200 damage. why is this? i have a lvl 30 thf and a lvl 30 war that i sub for drg. can anyone help me out?

As a Galka 30war/12mnk, i've busted out 200+ WS using Centurion axe (48dmg/504del) + the 2 hit Sturmwind WS. Highest has been 292 on an easy check goblin.

Also, are you hitting on all 5 hits?

You might want to invest in some acc+ items Also, Penta's damage per hit is less than that of a normal hit.

I have the lvl 48 lance which has like 69 damage. Along with that I have a life belt with its +10 acc. Cant afford archer or sniper rings. connect most of the time with all the hits, I was fighting beetles in Quicksands and I would land a 4 hit penta off and it would do 100 damage. Ive been messing around with it, but not sure from what ive read I thought it was like a power move. Is its strength that it can be used so often not its damage?

Get used to it. I was fighting crab robbers with my Level 53 Holy Lance with a Life Belt and +11 dex. I hit at most for 150 and 99% of the Pentathrusts only hit 1-2 times.

Part of the reason is you're fighting beetles-- I was hitting for 50 if I was lucky on those guys a few PTs ago. Normally hit for 100+... So, they either have a ton of def (this seems to be the case, the drk was doing pretty low damage too), or lance is less effective against them. (Like undead.. they halve lance damage. Evil bastards.)

I believe Pentathrust damage is scaled appropiately to the Lvl you recieve it relative to your Polearm skill. Pentathrust should do significantly more damage in later levels when your Polearm skill raises higher.

This is where you start regreting you weren't mithra. your hit rate sucks. Penta thrust damage = how many of it's hits land. The best you can do is try to raise your dex and ACC more, because all that elvaan str you have is next to useless now.

i was penta thrusting robber crabs for 300 - 450 consistantly.

Is dex going to be that big of a difference when the elvaan and mithra are both wearing a life belt and 2 snipers?

I've connected 5 hit Pentathrusts on Robber Crabs before with around 270 ATK and a Holy Lance (74 DMG 492 DLY) and the best I could do was 190 on those crabs.

I have no idea how you're getting those 300-350 with a mithra with 4-5 hits. What's your ATK?

elvaan > mithra for the low lvls
mithra > everything higher lvls ^_~

Meh im a Elvaan DRG and i dont miss too often. I have Battle Gloves (+3 Acc and eva) then 2 Amethyst Rings which isnt too much, i have 21 DEX total and if its like everyone says i have about 13 accuracy. Now not only that but i outdamage the other races, i have over 90 Attack at lvl 19
