I haven't played dragoon too far but mithra drg with battle gloves and dex/accuracy gear means you miss less and see more crits which I like. Like someone else mentioned, you will get tp faster if you miss less and land all hits on thrust weaponskills easier
Missing alot is bad if you have wyvern out since wyvern seems to be better about not missing so it can gain aggro and die if you miss too many times in a row :dead:

3 Mithra are better than 1...

from my parsing i am actually outdamaging my mithran counterpart consistently.

its only when we use multi hit WS that the equation drifts towards his favour. Fadedsoul does raise a good point that when penta thrust comes into play that mithra will probably deal much more 'spike' damage due to their superior accuracy stat.

until then however theres not really that much difference between the two, the thing you must remember about the ACC. stat is that it only focuses your ability to hit the mob. say it is high enough to already accomplish that then all acc you have above that point would be redundant.

now theres no way for you to actually know how much ACC you need to hit any particular mob so its probably safer to over compensate since when you are fighting you will usually be fighting ITs so you will need all your acc. to hit those.

on anything T and below however the elvaans and galkas will usually outdamage the miths since you need far less acc. to hit mobs of that calibre

I see your point, but you never can too carefull. I am going to sub WAR for my DRG so my DRG won't be all that weak.

:D even with a /WAR I can get wailed on pretty easily. I just get lucky that the PLD I pt with a lot has kind of made it a game to see if I can pull a target away from him ^^

As for stats, I've gone with upping DEX STR and ACC because I wasn't too certain with which to really focus on, but it's kinda seemed to help. I may not be as *damaging* as one of the elvaan DRG I've pted with, but I can connect more and do more renkei within 1 fight ^^ I'm still learning about the job tho..

Sonova.. your what? level 15? Ok, i'm level 60 so maybe it changes someplace.
Elvaan and galka dragoons suffer greatly after penta thrust.. level 49. None can come close to a mithran because Penta thrust is all about accuracy. There is a level 57 galka dragoon I hang out with, and he penta thrust for 130 to 200 in Boyahda tree while I was doing 300+ easy.

At low levels it's about str, so elvaan stand out, higher levels.. Str doesn't mean jack compared to ACC, that is when mithra pwn. 79dex and +17 accuracy make my damage more lovely than elvaan my level can dream.

I may sound rude but it's the truth. Elvaan aren't close to me, only hume are.

looking at a stat calculator.... hume's have like 3 more dex at 60 than elvaan. Drg/Sam is what I used for calculations. Are you saying the 3 dex they have makes them THAT much closer to you in DPS than an Elvaan?

I've played with galka and hume and elvaan dragoons, and myself being mithra iv'e always compared. I think mithra are the best dragoon. I, at level 56 have 72 DEX with a lifebelt (+10 accuracy) and my penta thrust pwns my galka and elvaan friends. They can get 250 off a penta thrust, then send me tells whining while i laugh. I almsot always get 4 or 5 hits on Penta thrust. after level 49 you LIVE for your penta thrust for a while so it's very important to have a sky high hit rate.

Elvaan friend hits for 100+ while i'm hitting for 80 to 90's but i charge TP near twice as fast because I rarely miss. Ask any dragoon over 50 you live or die by your hit rate, most drg have problems with thiers but i'm VERY happy with mine. In fact, the Renkei for my set pt is Penta Thrust >> Double Thrust (the warrior does double) >> Rampage >> vorpal thrust.
I'm in that renkei twice because I never miss and can charge my TP extremely fast. Soon as I buy my 2 sniper rings (+7 accuracy) and camp my peacock charm (+10 accuracy) my hitrate will be beyond godly.. Also don't worry about building your attack stat. it's important, but not near important and dex and accuracy are. buy meat mithkabobs to take care of any lacking attack.

All the power in the world is meaningless if you can't connect with it.
you had no idea how much that impacted me, i think imma stop lvlin my sam and go dragoon =D
                  go mithra!!
