spearing it until Dragoon

I'm playing as a warrior till 30 when i can get the dragoon job. Is it a good idea to use spear this entire time? i just feel like it will give me an advantage when i finally do get the job.

P.S. any dragoons in Phoenix?

Using the Spear only before hand will only give you a head start on skilling up Spear meaning you'll get the WS right away rather than having to hit the monster a few times before getting the skill up points necessary. I didn't skill up Spear before doing Dragoon and I turned out just fine.

On the flip side after doing Dragoon I had Spear skilled all the way up to 200 so when I played Samurai I didn't have to worry about skilling up Spear for Penta Thrust so I could just use the Katana.

I say use your jobs best weapon, as long as you dont go more than 2 Greatweapons at a time, you will be fine to keep it maxed. I could keep Scythe and Greatsword LVLed for my DRK before.
