Dragoon/Dark Knight

How well does it work out compared in pure damage to a DRG/WAR and DRG/THF?

Has anyone even played around with that combo? iv seen nearly no posts at all about it.

There is no reason to sub Dark Knight to Dragoon. Warrior and Thief are the ONLY choice for Dragoon below level 60.

Dark knight has passive attack ups, along with Last Resort, weapon bash and also a small variety of spells. Granted my MP will be VERY low with that subbed even if i am Taru.

but basicly what im asking is before 60 (subbing samurai then), are the physical attack ups, last resort and weapon bash going to put out more damage then the Thief or warrior as a sub.

I have a permagroup and i have no need at all to tank or provoke, basicly from what i see the warriors only increase in attack rating comes from Berserk and double attack. I wont get Double attack basicly until im just about ready to sub samurai so thst not a big of a help at all.

Thief basicly get sneak attack and trick attack both nice in damage but i heard sneak attack is not nearly as good as thief as main and only gives a normal crit. Other then those i dont see any other attack increases.

My role in my permagroup is for damage, with the dark knights increases it just seems to suit my role even more.

So if theres no reason at all to sub Dark knight, please give in explination instead of just one sentence

Edit: Forgot to add in with Dark knight, the wyvern will also use a breath heal when your party is at 1/4 health and 1/3 health with AF helm (not clear on this, is it anyone in my party at 1/4 or just myself), anyways it just seemed a little odd that not many people talk about the Dragoon/Dark combo, it doesnt seem to be that bad and with super jump negating alot of the aggro ill get, it just seems like a win/win combo. But maybe there is something that im missing. please tho if there is, point out Any and all Cons of this combo. Also my permagroup has a back up tank, so really my role is straight up pure damage.

Before level 60 having a Warrior sub job will grant you a Defensive Passive as well as an Attack Passive. Dark Knight will only grant you one attack passive. Last Resort doesn't even come close to Berserk in terms of usefulness. Berserk lasts a full minute and doesn't add any extra hate past the extra damage you do. Last Resort adds extra HATE to the damage. For a Taru Dragoon/Dark Knight getting hit is going to be suicide, because you will get hit. Adding two jobs with possibly the lowest defensive rating of any melee job doesn?ft sound like my idea of a good time.

Thief sub job before 60 wont control hate like a level 30 thief can. So it's really just about the extra damage boost. I'm not a huge fan of Thief before 60 but even with the reduced Sneak Attack damage it still makes a lot more sense than Dark Knight sub.

As for the wyvern with Dark knight sub you aren't going to have Hardly any spells to use. I haven't messed around with the healing breath but I?fm going to go out on a limb here to say it costs MP and doesn't heal very much or you'd see tons more Dragoon/Mage's around. It's not going to be a mass cure V.

If you want to play Dragoon/Dark Knight go ahead. It's not a good sub job. Anyone who says otherwise isn't thinking through this clearly.
