  • Sickle Moon Vs Guillotine

How does sickle moon stack up to guillotine in a xp pt situation. Assuming a thf sub for ending distortion with Sickle Moon would it do anywhere near the dmg of guillotine if all 4 hits land?

With Souleater ive hit for over 900 with sickle moon. That seems very rare though. Take an average of 100 WSs and i'm sure guillotine is the more dmging. But add distortion dmg onto Sickle dmg and Sickle Moon is bringing more dmg to the party. Guillotine cant close crap. I used it to xp when grouping with RNG, WAR or DRG(which for me was almost all the time), if group didnt have any of those I used GS.

Of course if there is THF in the group, it is in the parties best interest to use either Vorpal Scythe, or Power Slash so THF can close with dancing edge. It angers me when I hear about DRKs who refuse to do this. Its incredibly selfish to have that attitude.

Great Sword is actually our best friend, its only in the 60s do you realise this though. Luckily i just got both of mine capped, just in time for 66 and Spinning Slash.

I will say this though about Sickle Moon, its a hell of a lot more reliable than Guillotine. Hit wise anyway, even with +40 acc you can still miss 2-3 of the 4 hits and damage sucks.

Saying that, i have never topped a 1000+ with Sicklemoon where as i have done many times with Guillotine.

You can get over 1k with Sickle Moon at 300%. This is rare though. However things you must consider, Guillotine must connect all 4 hits. Guillotine with Souleater (due to being 4 hits) is very powerful. Having Sickle Moon to end Distortion is also very good. Guillotine generally doesn't end renkei, so the high damage is not brought out more through a renkei.

If going Thf sub at 60-65 Sickle Moon is very nice.

If still doing War sub, than Guillotine seems the better choice.

it's Sicklemoon +SATA that's leathal, easly 400-700 dmg on exp mobs. This WS is the reason DRK/THF becomes so popular at 60 imo, this WS is like Dancing Edge for DRK's

sickle is more consistent with thf and ends chains better.

Each WS has its own use. If you're asking which is better based on damage, I would have to say Guillotine is. That doesn't make Sickle Moon a crappy WS though. Just have both ready for whatever your pt setup is.

In my own experience, these are the highest numbers I got for each WS. I don't usually pay attention to amount of damage I do with my WS's, only time I really notice is when someone in my exp pt points it out to me.

Sickle Moon: 800-900 (on VT raptor, not sure what buffs I had on)

Guillotine: 1400 (on VT gob, with souleater on and /war)
