Once upon a time, I said in one of the threads that people who are turning 5 mil of stuff into the rare-ex abjuration gear might want to hold off and see what the expansion pack brings....

Well, little more info on the expansion pack has been unveiled.

Didn't say what stats they have, but one set (the Barone Corazza) is clearly made for DRKs.

Look sexy yes ;3 doesn't seem very job-specific though. I forsee that certain pieces may be very worth wearing certain jobs, but the full suit isn't gonna be good (I.E. dusk, RSE). Either that or it's just good-looking trash like the wedding dress ;3

Anyhow, anyone who thinks abjurations are going to be replaced that easily obviously hasn't gone through the trouble to try to get any. Abjurations aren't for everyone, especially for heavily camped servers. They are end-game equipments for the most hardcore of players. New equipment is often released for more down-on-earth players. For example, the adaman cuirass set was released for PLD because there was no decent PLD armor between AF and koenig, and koenig is neigh impossible for 80% of the PLD population to get.

In the case for DRK, the jump from thick suit to adaman isn't quite as large... it's one full step, not a giant leap like koenig. It's to the perfect point of balance, however, where making anything better than adaman would be insanely overbalanced and unfair for other jobs ;3

When 720k of adaman ores to be guilded with a full hauberk in a recipe that has a high chance of failure even with 100 blacksmithing on the best day isn't even considered when talking about "getting the item", you know that it isn't for everyone ;3

need i remind people why going through all the hassle for the fugly optical hat? And why you paid 2 million for a piece of armor that looked more like an apron that belonged to a chef than a DRK?

Personally (since i'm taru) I like Optical Hat, but when one does get Adaman Hauberk they really can switch out with another head piece. Back to Wyvern Helm maybe. Really what tops +10 Str +10 dex +15 Attack +15 accuracy (taking the 2str/dex = 1attack/accuracy thing.. adm hauberk gets 20 Attack 20 Accuracy). Drks know that going all out on accuracy is very bad. So with Adm Hauberk you now have more options of replacing some pieces of equipment. Even for those who think Adm set gives more accuracy than needed.. Sure in the perfect world all the accuracy you can get, but now (just like thick set) you also get higher +attack. Since Drk want to increase base weapon damage for renkei/WS just switch out adaman pieces for +Str gear when you get the TP needed.

This is where I find hecatomb set semi useful (I dont like it much due to the +slow). When a Drk gets enough TP for WS (while using Adm Hauberk), they can then switch some pieces to Hecatomb for the high +str and do WS. Heca. Cap, Heca. Feet, Alk. Bracelets = +28 Str alone, that is not counting mantle+1, or Rings either. The +slow doesnt matter when you are only using it for WS. Of course this would be the most ideal way of damage dealing for drk, however with Angel Skin prices for Hecatomb set so high, it's another thing to achieve.

The equipment shown may not be better than Adaman Hauberk. It could just be like how Gavial mail was introduced into the game for Drg/Sam. Don't see too many people wearing those do you?

On Midgard costs about 4.5 mil for all the ingredients (including hauberk), and 300-400k Synthing Fee. Very high chance of failure. Hope Hauberk doesn't get lost :p. Oh and Abjuration is only dropped off Nidhogg; which btw doesn't spawn everyday it's placeholder is Fafnir.

1. Hope Nidhogg Spawns
2. Hope you're LS gets it
3. Hope you don't get wiped/mpk'ed
4. Hope it drops E. Abjuration Bd.
5. Buy/Farm for ingredients
6. Pray synther doesn't fail

The scythe could also be a reaper class scythe to let Bsts get another scythe to use. But the look of it is nice, because it's different.

Personally sure I may get that new armor cause it looks different. But there is a very high chance that it wont top Abjuration sets.

Looks nice to me, I looked at it a few times prior to reading this thread, I never noticed the Scyth on his back, at first glance, IF it was job specific, I was thinking it was for Sam or Ninja.
