20WAR/10THF...omw to be a Dark Knight at 30... Bad choice??

I currently am using WAR as my main job and THF as my sub job until I become a DRK. Is this a bad idea? In the end I want to be a DRK/WAR and DRK/THF. I am subbing THF because I heard it is a great to sub along with warrior when ur a DRK.

THF wasnt really my job of choice, but I heard it worked great with a DRK. Is my lvl plan a bad one. Should I be doing somehting else for a sub?

i think you should sub whm till lvl 10 for easy solo then change to warrior at lvl 10 until lvl 66 thats what im doing. i lvled my thief to lvl 35 and i think i might ride warrior to lvl 66 for spinning slash then switch to thief sub for sata.if thats anyway wrong then correct me but you can have thief sub at lvl 30 for sneak attack but im not sure how affective thief is at lvl 30 because i didnt sub it:sweat: . my 2 cents as for you warrior.mnk is a popular choice for the extra vit and hp bonus and boost is good for hate. since you wont really be useing sa at lvl 30 because you will change to drk at 30

WHM? I heard that was the worst? I may be wrong.

I mean what I am doing is using the THF as my WAR sub until 30(keeping THF around half of WAR). Then once I am a DRK I will be subbing both WAR and THF with my DRK main. I will be alternating WAR and THF respectibly to get those subs leveled as well.

Am I going about the all wrong?

For soloing WHM is an excellent choice. So until you are a level 10 DRK. Mostly for healing.

WAR/THF doesn't buy you much until you are level 30 (at which point you will switch to DRK). But since you have already invested the time, I think you can last until level 30 with it. A better choice would be WAR/MNK but that would require you to put more work into that.

You are correct though, DRK/THF works well after the DRK is 30 (although because of provoke and beserk, DRK/WAR is still a better choice.) Once the DRK reaches 60 however, DRK/THF works very well because he can use Sneak Attack + Trick Attack to help control agro.

why does everyone say sub whm when you start lvling drk??
you get 2 maybe 3 cures at the most against worthless mobs. i for one say dont worry about it. when you ge the drk advanced job an go to lvl it. take war as a sub. the better str, an better def. will make the early lvls a breeze.
an if you want to make it even easier. pick up a lvl 1 scythe an raise its skill lvls a little bit. that way when you lvl your drk. scythe will be maxed. making the lvling speed quick...


but on your topic. it is very good to lvl both thf an war. even if you dont plan on using thf for drk sub til the late 60's. when you go to farm you will wish you had it. t.h, flee, sneak attack, an trick attack speed up farming.

also why thf is a good sub for drk after 60. is for s.a/t.a onto a tank. thus making the tank have an easier time at holding aggro. while the melee beat away at it, why the mages, cast away..
