What lvl did you start using GSD?

i got lvl 66 yesterday and sadly my GS isnt rdy for spinning slash yet. I'm still gonna lvl GSD of course to get it, but is this pretty normal? did most of you drks have GSD at 66? or when did you finally get spinning slash?

I would recommend that you form/join skill up parties and get Spinning Slash.

I was talking to a friend of mine (he was a PLD). He had mentioned to me that he was in a party where the group bitched at the DRK for not having Spinning Slash at 66. They still allowed him to party with him but they were kind of irritated that he didn't have it. Needless to say, by the time I hit 66, I will have spinning slash. No doubt about it.

heh thats why I generally PT with the same people over and over.

Rdm, Brd, Pld, Rng, Drk, Smn or Blm. I will get Spinslash at 67. Of course there were a few people telling me that I needed greatsword etc. at 66 ~_~;

But really when killing Flies or Crawlers in Boyahda. The only time you would use Spinslash is with War or Mnk in PT. Rng's do way too much dmg that Rng can solo WS and Pld or Nin can renkei with Drk Swift Blade > Cross Reaper or Blade: Ten > Cross Reaper.

Rng with that Othinius Cross bow just rip through those things ~_~; 2300dmg Slug shot ><

lv70 BRD in my LS told me that DRKs with GS capped are highly desirable, and that he and his friends are always looking for them for parties. My GS is 201 right now my scythe is 202. After I level THF i plan on using GS in every xp group I get that doesn't want Guillotine for fragmentation. Outside of that it will be Beadeaux, Davoi, and castle ortajwhatever coffer key groups to keep it capped.

spent two days for skill up. went from 195 -> 222.8

195->207 in boyahda tree normal crabs (not steelshell)

207->214 in Castle oztroja top floor

214->222.8 in Monastic cavern crest area

Since I'm 66, and @36000, I plan to just ask group to let me skill up 2.2 lvls in xp pt for spin slash.

Drk friend in my LS didn't use greatsword even once until about level 55. At level 55, skilled up as high as he could solo (~120 or so), and then started using greatsword for others' coffer hunts (you know, the ones where you don't really want to go, but you can still get something out of it ). Currently, he just tries to gain at least a few points of skill in every PT he has, and I believe he's up to 183 GS now at level 60.

Once you get greatsword capped (primarily from coffer hunts, although if your gear is good you should be able to use it in PT once it's 180+), it should be pretty easy to cap it every level while still primarily using scythe from 60-66. I don't think people have a right to expect drk never to use GS in xp PT pre-66 when they're going to expect them to have Spinning Slash within a few fights of them leveling to 66. That's on the same level as people that would bitch about a thf in their 20s using dagger until it caps each level.

...Are there a lot of ignorant people that also won't "allow" drks in their PT to use scythe 66+? Or are people at least a bit more understanding that you'd want to level your only "A" rank weapon...

I started really using my GS at lvl 16, and I'm glad I got the chance to learn from the other DRKs about it. I'm lvl 42.5 now as DRK, and I try to rotate Scythe and GS to keep them as evenly leveled as possible.

There is just 1 problem though.... I level faster than I can cap my 2 weapons (Scythe and Great Sword). My great sword is at lvl 115, and my scythe is at 120. It is kind of hard to keep them both maxed, but I would imagine that the more you level, the easier it should get since you have to get more XP per level, which means more grinding, and more weapon levels.

I didn't Use GS at all with my Drk, the only time I did was with my war, getting it to lv 30 with it.

I then started to look at the board, see threads here and there about having it capped, so I started to lv it. I'm lv 55 atm, I started skilling it when it was 98, It's at 169 now(Scythe is capped at 178), becoming hard to find coffer pts to get these last few points

I intend on having Great Sword ready when I reach lv 66.

im glad ive been capping my greatsword ever since i started dark...both my weapons capped at lvl 60. its easy to cap both weapons.

Most parties I get into, I end up using Spinning Slash.... I skilled up for a while in coffer parties at lvl 60 to get Great Sword capped.

Just afraid I'm going to let my Scythe fall too far behind, my GS is already skilled higher than my scythe since 66 -_-
