  • Gs lvl up chart thingy?

anyone know where i can find a GS lvling guide, mines at 115 and i need to get it to 200 atleast and i dont know where to lvl it

  • #2
    Do this.
If you wanna max GS to 120. Take 120-3, then divide by 3. That number is the level of your char when the A rank weapon max at 120. Then go to the place which you leveled on at that level, skill up there.

It's actually not like that. Due to the fact that Drk's get the passive Attack boosts, you can't lvl a weapon the same place you used to exp as you would that Weapon level. The higher the lvl you are the harder it is to skill a weapon, because you will have to go for harder things to get to the same skill as you would be killing weaker things at a lower lvl. (If that makes sense).

You can do lvl 110-140/145 in Crawlers Nest, 110-120 kill Exorays and Soldier Crawlers. 120-140/145 Kill Blazer Beetles and Rumble Crawlers.

You can actually start doing Coffer Key Skill ups at 140. It may be slow at first but it will pick up. You can get to 200 on the Coffer key monsters.

Also when skilling up on coffer key monsters. If there is already a designated healer (many skill up PT's say you should sub a healer Sub), you may want to sub thf and get a chance to steal some Gold Coins

I got 150 on exoray, just like what I did with Vorpal Scythe , and with decent rate. With 150 skill, you can only hit well with BRD< or on low coffer mob, like those skelly at Eldiem. Best for 150-200 is those skelly and Garlaige skellly.

200-225 I did on a combo of the key dropping mobs in OZ, anticans in quicksand, and toramas in onzozo.

My GS is currently lagging by about 15 lvls. Hopefully It'll cap when doing Genkai 1 and then it should be cap-able from 50 onwards since XP requirements go up so much then anyway.
                    Equips Acquired:

                      ah...

that must be ur assumption and simply not true. without regard to any attack bonus or any other factors, u can bring ur skills up to that of the lvl of the mob u r fighting. ones that won't give u any skills r those lower than ur skill's lvl, not ur job lvl.

for instance, if this is for A rated weapons, ur cap at lvl 60 is 203. and let's suppose, for the sake of this example, u r lvl 75 and need to train ur GS skill that's currently at 180. u fight mobs that r lvl 60 (again for the sake of this example, let's not talk about the lvl range here), and u can bring ur skills up to 203. however, once it reaches 203, u will no longer gain any skills beyond it. the same thing even if u r lvl 65, 61, or 60. u can still bring it up to 203 no matter ur lvl, gears, or abilities.

in order to furter explain, let's suppose u have a weapon that u have 0 skill in, and u r lvl 75. if u fight mobs around one of the 3 starting nations, u still gain skills, provided that ur job has a skill in such a weapon. (just because ur job can use it, that doesn't mean ur job has a skill in it. Bow for PLD is one example, and in such case u won't gain any skills even if u hit them.)

Well I really meant about the rate if gaining skill. There is no doubt you can still get the same skill when skilling on exp mobs at the appropriate levels. But it seems to go much faster if you do it on slightly harder monsters than the ones you would normally exp off of at the said weapon level.

                          do this

Number 1, shame on you for letting your GS skill slide. Good thing I didn't make that mistake.

                          For skill ups.

Good place to go from 120+ to 201 is:

Make a party and go to Kuffdal tunnel. Kill crabs and lizzards there. Of course this is most advisable if you are Lv 60+. Preferably near Lv 65.... because then:

                          /p AMEMET SIGHTED <call>

Yes boys and girls, the added bonus of making some great money while leveling your WS as well. Just make sure you have a Lv 60+ NIN/WAR for Lv 70+ PLD for tank. :D Oh, don't try it without a WHM, you need stona.

Got my 1handed sword from 110-201 there over about 10 sessions (each last about 1-3 hours). And saved up enough money to buy my Hauberk too. Bwhahahaha

first of all, the way u wrote ur previous post implied that u will NOT gain skills by fighting the skill-corresponding xp mobs, so if that's rather what u meant, u should've said that in the first place.

second, beased on my experience, the rate at which u gain skills by fighting IT mobs (to ur skills, not lvl) is slower than when u fight easier ones that still give skills, VT's, T's and EM's, thus completely opposite to ur statement. yet, it's true that when u fight mobs that r too high to ur skills, u gain more skill points than u would on easier ones, though u will gain skills less often. (for instance, if ur skill is 150 and u fight coffer key mobs in Davoi, u won't gain skills often, but when u do, it'll be 0.5 or 0.4 points u'll gain most of the time.) however, u r likely to gain skills more often on easier ones, which will prove to be the faster way in the end.

nevertheless, ur personal experience might differ, so there's no offense taken.
