It's not that hard. In fact, I never used a GS in an exp party ever as a DRK until I got Spinning Slash. The inconvenience of skilling GS up to 225 is far out-weighed by how damn good the weaponskill is. Skill up solo to about 120, start making some skillup parties to get to 150, and join coffer key hunts. You have some time until level 66, so just suck it up and do it. You won't regret it.

Any recommendations for where i can get my last 19 points? I can usually find some friends (rdms brds tanks) to go with me, and I think it'd be nice to have and not worry about for a while.

Also, should I be using a wanky sword? I kinda wanna buy a mithril heart and show it off in front of the other drks lvling gsd but I heard lower dmg is easier skill. Any thoughts?

Goblins in Onzozo will get you to 225. I got mine off the high level Boyahda crawlers. I've never heard that lower dmg is better for skill ups, but get lower delay GS. More hits - faster skill. Also, I used to want a Mythril Heart. I would take it if someone just gave it to me, but it last sold for 1,300,000 gil, I would never buy that. I'm using an Arondight right now, same delay, one base dmg less, looks better, water dmg additional effect, cost me...the price of as many Quus as it took to pop Cancer and get the sword. The Arondight will tide me over until I get my endgame GS, either the Negan or a Balmung. The Balmung seems more realistic to me. Negan costs so damn much to make and if it fails, no thanks.

Bah, Blaze you bum. We've been trying to do some skill up parties on weekends, where have you been!

Anyway, lower damage weapons means you have to hit the monster more to kill it (even though with an extremely low attack from low skill, your damage should be somewhat gimped anyway). More hits = More chances for skill ups and more available mobs to skill up on. Problem with this is that it can be dangerous if you are working on skill with nearly easy prey or higher with a weapon that is way too low (well, if you are soloing at least).

Typically I'll choose a weapon for skilling up that gives a bonus to Accuracy no matter what the level or damage is (Braveheart and a level 55 scimitar off the top of my head), sub whm, wear my snipers and go to town on mobs til around 140+ skill. Then I need a party to go further.

Kuftal lizards can get you to around 200. 200 is level 60ish skill with A weapons, which should be party friendly for real xp to move on at our level.

skill up is directly related to your attact rating.

So, use /war sub and use defender, and don't eat mithkabob during skill up. Also, wear acc+ items but not the att+ items.

Often times, this will make mobs /check as high defense if you are fighting right mobs for your level.

Fight only stuff that are high defense - key to a fast skill up.

Either the Balmung or the Nagan would be the swords you'll use at 75. It just occured to me that I spelled "Nagan" wrong on my earlier posts, I came back to correct myself :D

it's not that scythe is bad or anything at 75, it is still DRKs best weapon, it's just the fact that 70+ you will have to exp off bones, and a dark renkei (scythe) against them BLOWS

however, since GS 225 WS finishes the LIGHT renkei, you will definitely be using GS.

also, Balmung is the GS you should be using at 71+

however, getting it is another problem :mad:

You'll be using gs almost exclusively in leveling past 66, but the total dps from scythe is always higher, especially after death scythe at 73. The reason for gs is just that Spinning Slash is much more compatible with most other melees than Cross Reaper, and also light skillchain is more effective on most 66+ leveling mobs.

im 67 atm, i am going to be using a zwei until i get Arondight. Going to buy a balins at 73. i cant afford balmung lol. i know a lot of ppl who sell there snipers and farm the extra 400-500k i cant do this.

so my plan is Zwei , Arondight then buy balins which costs like 600k on my server where balmung costs 1.5 mil. Galka drk so mp bonus and the str makes the choice really easy (also having haub and 2 snipers, that 5 acc from balmung aint going to do shit for me, idk maybe in a hnm/god battle maybe a good idea but its a toss up imo.).

Its hard i wana work on my 1hsword and 1haxe but i cant afford to drop 50k on a viking and then another big chunk of change on a blood sword. really tough having to buy all these weapons lol and i still dont have my bomb core witch really bothers me.
