DRK/BLM <-- Your thoughts

Hello there, this has probly been asked many times before, but after searching a few pages on my school's dial-up connection... well.... you get the picture. Anyways my question is as follows:

Being a taru drk, I know must all would scream and shout "SUB WAR!!!" But... I dont realy wanna =). I'd like above all else to sub blm (well, maybe not all else....) or maybe whm at the least, but anyways... would subbing blm or whm as a dkn completly gimp the class, or would it be okay. I'd also like to know your thoughts on parties taking me or not... Im still low in warrior, about to get me sub, and its either thf/war to 30, blm/whm to 30, or whm/blm to 30.... any help would be most apreciated ^^

I personally, don't get it...if you want a job that have black magic, and then sub a blm on top of that...why not just be a BLM?

If you are a Taru DRK, your damage is already handicaped, don't gimp it even more by subbing BLM.

BLM sub doesn't really give you any more powerful/useful spells since most spells overlap. You get Warp, woopee great use for the party.

im a drk/blm and i enjoy it and for people who say be a drk/war i have tried it and its only 4 pts different in att but as a drk/blm i get advantage with magic att bonus that my spells do two to three more times damage as a drk/war

So your spells do 4 or 6 damage? Wow...amazing.


I only leveled my BLM for Warp and to cap my magic skills, which isn't really worth it. Still do crap damage and usually don't land enfeebles. Only Sleep seems to ever stick.

Sorry, DRK/BLM is only for using Warp to get home.

Occasionally, you may be asked to go DRK/WHM to do backup healing if your party cannot find a real WHM, but your damage output will suffer so beware. Other than that, DRK/WHM or /RDM is good for things like skill up / coffer key PTs in which you will need to Sneak/Invis your way past aggro mobs and you don't want to waste money on powder and oil.

But you should sub WAR until 65 or so and then sub THF for exp parties.

I'm not sure if anyone asks a DRK to go /WHM anymore...they just don't make a party if the right jobs are not available. One of the reasons it takes an amazingly long time to get a party. Another is people not joining because you have no WHM.

drk/whm is more useful for coffer hunting parties than for exp groups
