What are the advantages of subbing thf over subbing war? I know drks can't take too many hits so subbing war could prove problematic with aggro control, but what other reason is there for giving up war abilities and stats?

if you dont like play THF then DRK is not for you because after 60 65 maybe 66 you'll /THF 90% of the time all the way up till 75. DRK deals more dmg than they can take... well for me taru hehehe, not sure about other races but mobs double 200s sometimes triple attack and high dmg SP i would really want someone can take the hit and transfer all that nasty hate to. when you hit for 100-150s and high dmg WS that means pissed mob and pissed mob means dead taru :spin:Bastok Rank 10

heh alright thanks guys, I don't really know how a THF opperates sub lvl 30 or 60, but I think I get the jist of what you are saying. Makes sense, thf is there to dea high dmg and then huge dmg in shorts burst to transfer aggro to someone else. Is that how its supposed to work?Dauthitaru Ranger Extrodinaire at your service!

Yes, at 15 THF gets Sneak attack, which is a guarnateed hit critical damage attack, as long as they are behind the monster. At 30, they get Trick attack, which when used from behind another person (ie: monster = x, you = o, person = y position: x y o ), deals increased damage and transfers all the hate of that attack onto the person your standing behind.
Once THFs get level 30, they do Sneak attack + Trick attack at the same time, doing tons of damage (200+), and transfering all of the hate from that to the person in front of them. (Hopefully the tank).
This really helps with hate control and helps do a lot of damage.
When DRK reaches 60, we can do that too, but it's not worth it until level 65/66, when we get the 225 WS's. Those when used with Sneak+Trick and a skill chain deal MASSIVE damage.
This again, helps control hate, and the SA+TA damage helps make the skillchain damage really massive.

you don't REALLY need the thief sub until 65/66.
however, lvl 60+, you'll be asked to trick onto the tank with your guillotine, and you basically take over the job that the thief used to do, which is control the hate."LOLOLOL /COMFORT THF

ahhh now i understand, I didn't know what trick attack did thats why i wasn't understanding the concept. I am also guessing that TA and SA affect your next attack much like boost for the monk does. I can imagine just how effective that would be with guillotine. Sounds like that would work with drg too using penta thrust. I'm also guessing that this wont work with ranged attacks since rangers would sub thf immediately and never worry about aggro when using sidewinder/slug shot. A shame it doesn't that would be quite nice, anyways I can't wait to see that in action, a party will a pally and a drk/thf or drg/thf must have aggro on lock pretty much.
Now the question is, will the follow command work to get yourself easily behind the person you want to trick all the aggro on to? Or is it fairly easy to maneuver yourself behind someone to use trick?

it's a little tricky, but if you practice it you'll get used to it. it's best to just stand on the side until you're ready to go. if you're ending a skillchain, if the person before you can't draw hate from tank, you may have to just TA behind tank and WS, then save that TA for your next normal hit. on a side note, guillotine is not as effective with SA/TA as Spinning Slash/Cross Reaper because it's a multi-hit WS and the SA/TA dmg is only on the first hit, while Spinning Slash is a 1 hit therefore -all- of the dmg boosted on that first hit.滅殺
