You'll be using the 3 subs war/thf/sam at different times^^

War when u need provoke/berserk/double attack, maybe a light tank VS avatars etc.

Thf in most XP PT cases, especially 65-75. I usually use it all the time anyway for Flee and TH, getting around faster ^^

Sam is nice for kindreds seal BCNM, and any other time you might want better TP gain and meditate etc

    just basic ideas

hey sorath you're a high level DRK maybe you can help me out.. Do you think its worth leveling great sword? I mean I'm a level 33 DRK (could easily be 50 by now but I havent been able to get on for 2 damn months >_<) but ive NEVER leveled greatsword, and I know doing it now would hurt my parties, plus i really hate great swords. Do you think its worth leveling it up at some stage? Or should i just stick with my scythe.

I have heard that it is best if you have both Gsword and Schythe lvled. It will depend on your PT but both the 225 WS for GSword and Guillotine are sought after by grps. Some groups use the Gsword for a light element skillchain and some use Guillotine for the dark element skill chain. Having both lvld is a good idea. Get a grp of friends that need to lvl there weapon skills and lvl GSword that way.

          lvl 1-60 war is best.
60-65 toss up between war/thf, reasons being, war will give you more dmg and best when paired up with a thief. thf is pretty good because u can do those guillotine/sidewinder renkis that are fukin awesome.
          66+ thief.

i'm not sorath, but i can answer your question. yes it now. 66+ is when your going to need it. 33-49 is really good too because of the powerslash to viperbite renki. try to catchup ur g.sword with your scythe asap so that you can use it during xp pts to keep your sword caught up with your scythe. try to get a sniper ring asap so you can cap both easily.

cross reaper for dark, not guillotine. it can only form a lv1 or 2 effect

Ever since the TP nerfing, WAR sub is the only way to go from 1-65. Double Attack, Attack Up Passive, Berserk >>>> Sneak/Trick Guillotine once a round thanks to that shitty TP nerf.

Is WAR doable 65+ if you have a THF in a party?

difficult, since to have thf transfer aggro to the tank you need a strong weaponskill/provoke to draw the mob's aggro temporarily, and if timing is poor, results in hits vs you, even if not, if tank has too much hate, could be problematic. Your WS dmg is also poorer. With thf sub your risk is very low, ws dmg is very high, and hate control capabilities is just what PT's look for..

Hmm, because I am in a static PT and I wasn't sure if it would work with a THF sub.

Sorry i haven't been on the boards last couple days, no time for game or leisure, busy with work ^^

Well, as the other DRKs have mentioned, aye 66+ you break the 225 cap for Great Sword and gain Spinning Slash, which you will be using to close Light Renkeis almost all the way to 75, it's a hot favourite and pretty useful too.

Personally I leveled both Scythe and great Sword without hampering my PT from 1-49, since i usually make my own PTs from 33 onwards i get a Thf and a tank and do Distortion, opening with piercing Power Slash. If you haven't done so, you can stick with the scythe, but I would suggest bring up your GSD to your current level (33) where it will be about close to 100, and use it to open Distortion.

At 49, you gain Vorpal Scythe, which you'll be using more often, and thus great sword Might be neglected, depending on your playstyle and time constraints. In this case, don't worry about it, keep leveling as per normal with your war sub. at 60-65+ try to start participating/helping out in Coffer key PTs and such, and skill up your GSD at the same time to 225, it might take awhile but it's worth it ^^
