Well I've read alot of opinions on what races are best for DRK and it seems as if Galka and Elvaans pretty much take the cake but I've got a question. Wouldn't Mithra be a visable choice? They have almost the exact same stats as Humes, wouldn't they just need some +STR equip?

I have not played dark but from my experience and judgement, I think they'd make a great choice, just there is a different strength you have and a disadvantage they don't.
I'll start with the bad, mithra have less str,hp(which matters some in soul eater), and vit, and dark's will often sub tank. For example for setting up sneak+trick, although it's a short action(SA+TA) in the end, it matters. Str isn't too hard to make up for but considering it's the most importent stat you'll never IMO be as good as a well equipped elvaan or galka.
Now the strengths, first and preheps the biggest is the extra dex. With GS and scythe having such long delays you want to hit almost all the time. 2nd is the extra mp but here I'm fuzzy, I don't often see drks blasting through there mp anyway. More importently though is the better int stat than the galka and elvaan, not that a drk's magic is going to be that strong but it will be better as a mithra. I think it would be more appearent solo while farming or when using drain.
All and all I'd rather have the elvaan or galka but if I saw a mithra drk lfp I would definitely consider getting him/her.ANYWAY BIG BEN THINK LIKE THIS ITS LIKE HEY GUYS WHY BE RACIST?? mithra is pretty cool, they hold their weapons like baseball bats while dressed as some of the most dapper drks in vana diel.
so far, i'm a lv 60- mithra drk/war and as far as i can tell, mithra drk perform closest to hume drk. Same HP/MP, fairly identical stats. mithras get a few more criticals here and there and are supposedly a wee bit more accurate than hume but honestly, nothing you'll really notice or really care about later on.
so there you have it, mithra is not gimpy ^^
also, drk needs accuracy most of all, this does not exclude mithra in any way.Comment

Mithan are just fine. The dex advantage helps a lot early to mid-game, but wears off at higher levels. You will still need the same acc+ gear probably up to lvl 70, then maybe you can start wondering if you need more str or attack. Drk hit rate is bad, so you can't just look at your dex and think you're immune to it.
Since I'm hume, I've noticed that mithrans hit about the same damage, cast spells to similar effect, but they hit a fair bit more often. Otherwise I can't tell the difference. Galka and elvaan hit harder for sure.
