Noob question about DRK

Hello I am currently lvl 16 Warrior, I want to be a DRK/WAR. So when I reach level 18 and do the sub job quest, which sub job should I take on? thanks.

Do THF to 15, that'll carry your war to 30(yeah it's not as nice as mnk sub, but it doesn't matter). At 30, you can start Drk quest. I recommend Thf because it's useful for farming, and you'll probably want to switch over to thf sub later on anyway.

This is the quickest route, but if you don't mind, sub MNK to WAR and get it to 20. Get WAR to 35+ if possible. Do THF on side - it's a bitch to level up so get someone to plevel you to 10 and then find a "mini-static" to get through the horrible 10 to 15. Once at 15, you can get any party for your sneak attack WS on renkei.

This way, you have option to go WAR or THF sub no matter what level your DRK is. You may or may not have a static for DRK. But with pick-up parties, esp JP ones, it's nice to have options and the party will dictate to you according their needs.

It's not as easy as you make it sound... a lot of players at that lvl have no idea how a thf works... and you'll be hard pressed to find a PT that knows how to renkei in the first place... @_@;;

Ok thanks for the feedback guys. Got another noob question about adavanced jobs and how they work. So lets say i get my WAR to level 30 and sub monk to 15...when i go to complete the DRK quest what happens to my WAR? Does it drop to level 1 and i start all over? Sorry for my noobness

Get warrior to 18, switch to Monk/Warrior. Then level Monk/Warrior to 15. You'll be a 15Mnk/07War. If you check Status>Job Levels, you'll still see that Warrior is lvl 18, right where you left off. Switch back to Warrior and sub Monk, you'll now be 18War/09Mnk. Continue leveling til 30. Then go start advance job quests.

Seriously, I hate partying with people in Qufim that still don't have a subjob. It's even more mockable if you get closer to 30 and have no subjob still (I don't care if you are a 27 Whm with no sub...).

Hopefully I didn't sound too offensive with the last sentence though. It was more of a rant, rather than a putdown. But being past subjob quest level and not having a subjob is really frowned upon. Besides, with the PS2 user increase, there's a lot of people who are bored and take their time helping new guys out with subjob quest anyway. It shouldn't be too hard now.

If you believe you're definately going to be a DRK in the end, level THF up. My first job was levelling THF to 18 then levelling WAR with THF subbed to 30. I just use WAR as my sub now for parties, but I use THF for flee & treasure hunter to farm gil/items. MNK might be a little easier to level up, but would you actually use it in the long run? No.
