DRKs and Great Axes?
I noticed that only DRKs and WARs can use GAxes. Does this mean that DRKs are actually good with them? if so, how do they compare to scythes and GSwords? :confused:

DRK has a B+ in Great Axe, while it has an A- in Greatsword, and an A+ in scythe. Up to level 51, it makes almost no difference. After Lv.51, the difference minfests itself pretty quickly. It'll show up in accuracy and average damage due to lower skill and attack rating. The biggest problem about using great axe is that it'll be hard to keep great sword and scythe up to date for when you need them post lv.60.
Weapon-wise, great axes are generally one less damage for similar delay to scythes. Great Axe does have sturmwind at skill:70, which blows away everything we have until lv.60. Most likely though, people will want you to use scythe up to 33, then greatsword from 33-49 for power slash -> viper bite. Then they'll expect you to have magically maxed out your scythe so you can use vorpal -> viper bite.
If you have have great axe skill up and have one available, it's better for farming than scythe though, sturmwind is pretty nice... -

Which is why I use my Gaxe/Gswd on WAR, not on DRK. When I tried to level up Gswd using my DRK, I ended up screwing up my scythe skill leveling. I probably used Gswd for only 1000+ xp worth of battles trying to level it up and not a single skill point went up (I didn't miss much and I even did more criticals than my Scythe). So I gave up switched back to Scythe and to my horror, did not see a single gain until I racked up over 6000 xp (And leveled up once). I found myself almost 7 full points below cap and since level 41, it has taken almost 6 job levels to max out scythe *shudders* I hate to think what the DRKs out there switching between 3 weapons look like in their combat skills department ... @_@My StatsComment
