  • Weapon and Armor question

hello there. im currently a lvl 51 drk using a scythe! And some ppl are telling me i need to start lvling Greatsword bcz at like lvl 68+ it is better than scythe. WEll....Uh....is this true? should i be using a greatsword and not a scythe? Just let me know please if you know for sure ^^ cuz i figure if its gonna b better to use Greatsword at higher lvls i mine as well start now.

Now for the armor, im getting my AF now and im just wonderin how long do i wear my AF til? whats the armor that replaces my AF? thank you

P.S. No offense but please dont respond to the weapons thing unless you know what your talking about ^^

Keep your scythe capped every lvl, you can go farm lower lvl monsters and cap your sword later if you want and then join key/coffer groups at 60 to finish it off for that lvl. Greatsword isnt necessariily(sp, wtf cant spell that) better, its just they both do different renkies so its good to have both.

As for armor, after AF, its mainly the thick series, haubergeon, and hauberk that you will most likely be looking to upgrade to.

Maybe that crab whatever armor too, but i dont know how those latent effects stack up

You can solo it from 1-100 pretty easy. I ended up farming elementals in Qufim to get to lvl 100. After that it gets hard. Make sure that the mob you're hitting doesn't check as high evade (which will depend on your skill level with that weapon) or else it wil take forever to skill up.

          reason for greatsword

If i'm not mistaken is that at Lv 66 for greatsword, if you kep the skill capped, you get spinning slash. Spinning slash can be used to cap Lv3 Light renkei. While at Lv 65 you get Cross Reaper with Scythe, which can cap Lv3 Dark renkei. Both the Light and Dark renkei each cover 4 elements, so you have all 8 elements covered between them.

With these 2, sub THF, you can fuidama and cap renkei to do a ton of damage and put that onto the tank. This is why DRK/THF is so good at 65, and THF after 65 is blahhhhh (so I heard).

            correct http://www.bwire.net/TMOG/attachment...=&postid=15797

i found /thf after 60 i dont hit at all in battles, i can go full at it in every battle. when i /war i get hit very often. no matter how hard i hold back as /war i get hit alot. i start to see why so many high level drk /thf.

In response to your armor question, If you can afford it, Royal Knight's armor will suit you better than your AF. At lv.59 you'll want the Haubergeon (if you can afford it). At level 69 the Haubergeon or Hauberk) and the rest of the "Thick" series of armor are the way to go. With the exception of the DRK AF helm, our AF does little to no good for us unless we plan on tanking (parry, evade, high defense is pretty much all it has to offer :/).

yes, level GS, but keep scythe capped is #1 priority.
