Dark Attack UP

I just got my DRk, and i have no idea how much this attk up really affects anything. It's a passive trait. I think you get 3 of them.


Is it better than berserks' +20% Attack for 3 minutes?

At lvl 60 i have 2 ATK ups i think, and LS + SE. If drk is subbed do those ATK UPs really do much a difference?

Anyone wanna help me out with this, i would appreciate it. Thanks.

it's definitely not as strong as berserk

it's just a nice attack boost

no idea on statistics though

but just to answer a possible future question, warrior's att I does not stack with drk's Att I

the attack passive trait is not as good as you would think. well imo as a sub. the attack bonus adds 30attack... i think. so that would 2 bonus's for 60attack which isn't very noticeable.

berserk/warcry/double attack is much better than last resort/souleater. war's also get an attack bonus at 30, so basically you would only get one more passive.

it's about 10/20/30, each attack bonus over rides the previous.

if you're subbing drk, you'll get a max of +20 attack at lv60main with drksub.

also attack bonus from war doesn't stack with drk's attack bonus.

so you're telling me that a constant +30 atk UP with a 30 second-lasting Last Resort (5 min downtime) which also draws hate is not equivalent to



a provoke + 3 minute-lasting Berserk (5 min downtime) and aggressor?

then lvl 50-60

I guess double attack just owns then

lvl 60-70

a +60 ATK up, LS (hate-drawing), Soul Eater (1 min) (5mins downtime)

equivalent to

+30 ATK up, Berserk, provoke (to draw hate), Double attack (which i hear doesn't kick in so often at all, esp. if subbed)


I might be going samurai, and i don't really want to lvl another basic job up to lvl 25 just to use 1 passive trait (double attack), so i was wondering if Drk would compensate or at least Thief (which i have already lvled pretty well...does thief help with accuracy better?)

If you are using DRK just for + ATK as a sub job, that is fairly pointless. Last Resort isn't as good as Berserk, only get 2 +ATK as mentioned whereas you get 1 anyway with a warrior sub, and def bonus, and berserk, and double attack, and the situationally useful defender.

You can't get agressor from a sub job, its a level 45 warrior ability. As to the frequency of double attack, I find it happens very often at 62 with a level 30 warrior sub so it is definately worth it, and it was quite frequent at 50/25 also. No thief really doesn't help accuracy better, its 2 more dex than you'd get subbing warrior which is fairly inconsequential. The few times I've seen THF sub be used to relative efficacy is as a DRK sub 60+, and I've grouped with warriors pre 60 who used THF as a way to get break WS to land all the time with sneak attack and that wasn't bad at all really.

Unfortunately if you want to be most effective, warrior is a far better sub than DRK in overall damage output additions. I didn't want to believe warrior was basically the best sub job for a melee for a long time, but once I leveled it to 15ish and had Berserk I noticed a reasonable gain to my output and just went with it. Basically if timed right you can usually be Berserked through most of an exp chain up to 5 (probably won't be on for 1 fight depending how fast/slow your group kills) which is quite a large ATK gain (25% of whatever your ATK is). Anyway if you wanna just do what you want, do what you want. If you want to be effective for many levels, stick with warrior, very worth the few days it might take to get warrior to 30.
