darks 1 hand sword?

Why are they using a 1 hand sword insted of a scythe or 2 hand?

All the high lvl frieneds that i know just have them just wear them in town to look cool. Often they will have some shield to go along with it. :sweat:

I like using 1 handed swords and other kinds of weapons so when I try another job out I'll have it maxed out. That's just me though

drk isn't horrible with a 1h sword, so if you have the skill trained from a different job, you can definitely use a one hander for variety. with our high str and passive bonuses drks hit hard even with a smaller weapon.

Maybe they have it for HNM hunting, you know "Spirits Within"

ya all you really use 1hnd sword for is HNM or darkness+blood weapon and use a sword or dagger.

At lv.50 the Tactician Magician Espadon is exactly 1/2 damage of the Barb Scythe and a little less than 1/2 delay. Fast blade still reliably does more damage than vorpal :/ I was playing around in sauromugue last night... since you're limited on the max amount of damage you can do to mobs by a whole bunch of factors (str/attack), i was doing more damage over time with my sword than a scythe to raptors. Pretty useful for farming anyway... i'd never use it in an exp party where i wasn't doing my max damage on every swing.

Would be nice using Bloody/Carnage sword for the HP drain while farming Of course you probably would get fairly little HP return, but at least it's something.

I partied with a DRK/NIN in a 55-57 party that used two swords. His regular hits were double 60's and when he put on soul eater and last resort he was doing double 170's. His Fast Blade ranged from 300-600 each time and one time he got up to 760dmg with it. He pulled agro from the Paladin a lot, but it was fine with Utsusemi.

Also when we were about to end, he told the bard to play both of the march songs and told me to give him haste. He popped his 2 hour, soul eater, and last resort, and basically soloed an IT mob down to 1/4 HP and then the BLM casted Quake and finished it off.

All this was on IT/VT mobs in Cape Terrigan. I was impressed. He did nearly 2-3 times the damage that the Dragoon was doing. He made DRKs using a scythe look noobish.
