DRK/WAR vs DRK/SAM

I noticed that a lvl 70 DRK/WAR gets an extra attack up as well as the warcry ability. I'm thinking this looks good on paper, cos Beserk+Last Resort+Soul Eater+Warcry+5 ATK up=!!!
Is this so or is SAM better in the long run?

Any meaningful analysis must take into account hate mitigation. Most DRKs on Caitsith run as /thf past lvl 60. The exceptions are mainly subbing warrior. To my knowledge they do this so they can provoke the mob off the PLD for the THF's trick/sneak/WS. Purely a situational thing. The problem with subbing sam is you will try to blast it with Guillo/Cross Reaper/Spinning Slash/Spiral Hell (insert lvl 60+ WS here) all the time... right up until the MOB is stuck to you like super glue and you're dead from using Soul Eater/Last Resort... wah wah wah... Game over for you. To much damage = too much hate = you face down.

DRK/WAR is like the type of person who does one huge amount of damage every here and there.

DRK/SAM will continue to do great amouts of damage until it's overbearing for the DRK/WAR to compare.

for some reason when i sub /sam i feel really weak compared to a /war ya i can get a skillchain in but just doesnt seem as powerfull loosing double swing is huge ><

Well , since both can not get rid of hate, I would guess you would want the most damage output. The DRK/WAR easily beats DRK/SAM. Sorry DRK/SAM its just that DRK/WAR hits alot harder and double attack triggers way too often. If you have the +acc items the damage is insane. The tp gain SAM sub gives you is made up for by double attack so you basically lose all the benefits of WAR for nothing by going SAM. O and dont forget when double attack triggers on a wepskill special 8) (happens alot). Yeh ouch.
DRK/SAM might have a shot if double didnt trigger so often.

p.s. You will be doing insane damage simply by using berserk at the start of the fights and souleater the last half or third of the fight (never at the start). If your tank is good you wont get aggro this way. I never use last resort, and definitely not all job abilities at once !
