capping multiple weapons

it's getting increasingly hard to keep both my scythe and other weapons capped.

from lv 1-20 i was able to keep scythe, great axe and great sword all capped. then great sword started to fall behind [i liked axe better =P]

now at 41, i can barely keep my scythe capped. axe has fallen behind by 15 lvs, and sword got dusted back at the 60s.

is this just my personal problem? i don't miss often, being a hume thf sub. but 90% of hits i land don't give me any skill up. if i switch to axe, then my scythe skill will fall behind because the job xp/weapon xp ratio is incredibly high. [i.e. i will level before capping, which means my scythe would then fall behind]

any advice on how to catch up your other weapons?

i only try to cap scythe and great sword. seems doing okay after 48+ (life belt) and xp extend. i even got a Tactician Magician's espadon and a Royal Knight Army shield to skill up sword when farming or helping LS farming coffer keys ect. but still use A rated weapons when xp'ing.

advice? 2 hander weapons are not easy to skill up stay with scythe and great sword

i was under the impression that great axe was upped to A- after the last big patch.

when i was leveling all 3 [scythe, 2h axe, and 2h sword] i seem to remember sword and axe capping at the same level.

besides, if i had wanted to be like all the other DRKs out there i'd just use a scythe. great swords look cool, granted, but too many people go around wielding them.

the problem is this: my axe skill is high enough that i can't raise it by killing easy mobs, but low enough that it's not much good in a leveling party. quite a pickle.

I would have thought it would get easier in time as the time between lvling increases :confused:

DRK's efficiency in 2h axe is B+. yes it has been raised, but from C+.

unless ur main job is WAR and the skill already is capped, i don't see any point of training 2h axe as a DRK. haven't seen any DRK usuing 2h axe, either.

but yes, it's also true that more weapons u can use, the wider the party tactics options will be. so i like ur idea of training as many weapons as possible. but u should never let scythe and 2h sword behind just because u use 2h axe too much.

so my advice is this; concentrate on scythe and 2h sword first, and then, if u have some spare time, go train other stuff.

btw, DRK can start using 1h axe ws Rampage at lvl 56, and this actually is stronger than any ws' of scythe or 2h sword until u get Guillotine.

of course, being a drk i would never let my scythe skill fall behind.

but as for 2h sword, too late =\

my 2h sword has been way behind since lv 20.

i really enjoy using 2h axe as drk though, i've only seen 1 or 2 other [all JP] DRK using them. personally, i much prefer axe WS to sword WS. sneak+atk up+sturmwind is great dmg, even when my axe skill is 15 lvs behind my scythe. and all the -Break WS skills are also very useful. absorb-AGI + shield break will let your pt crush that mob you've all been whiffing, etc etc.

it's an alternate weapon anyway, if i needed dmg i can always take out my curved-blade-on-a-wooden-stick.

Alright here is my problem..

Being an idiot.. I never leveled up my GS (its at 18), I know having two weapons is much better than just one...

Well now I want to level up GS along with my scythe.. Is the any way I can level up my GS now? Having it at level 18 makes it miss way to much in PTs..

If I go farm with it, will it level up, at least enough to use it in parties?:confused:

I got GS from 0 to 40 in like 30 minutes just by killing stuff in Latheine. CHeck out the level caps for the weapon, and just kill monsters that would con tough or higher for that level and it should go up really fast.

For Example: Gsword caps at 66 at level 21 so if you want to get your skill to 66 just solo pugils in valkurm or other monsters of similar level.

eventually your skill will stop going up as monsters become too hard/time-consuming to solo, but you should be able to at least skill it up from 18 pretty easily.
