Battles for Dark

Ive been really into the thought of being a Dark and when i was in Qufim today i saw a THF/NIN who looked busy, was having fun and dealing spurts of damage and being helpful. Anyways i was wondering what battles for DRKs are like or if they are as fun. Or are they just stand, use an active ability once in a while and swing. ?? I wanna know what battles are like for DRK/WAR and DRK/THF cuz i am honestly thinking i mght get bored of it.

IMO
most jobs are the same. it gets repetitive. usually it depends on the pt setup. if there is a thief, you have to position yourself behind the monster witch sometimes moves alot, and voke it off the tank so the thief can fuidama again. on normal pt's (one without a thief, because i don't see that many thiefs anymore.) a dark/war will basically stand there hit, and use a little black magic (ie drain,aspir,absorb) and use their abilites and spam their tp. drk/thief is basically the same except they can't really pt well with thiefs (like i said thiefs aren't really around these days.) and they run behind the monster once a minute and sneak attack the monster which imo is tedious. this is how the game is played from lvls 30-47 and i'm pretty sure 47-59 it is still the same. i actually don't find lvling boring, but thats me. partly because getting a pt passed lvl 30 is much harder. 1-30 you can get into a pt and sure a bad pt is boring, but for some reason it's okay because you can still get xp. 30-** geting a bad pt would mean that the pt will probably break fast (lol) and there were some deaths so they don't last long enough to be boring. 1-30 is esp when lvling is boring, if you want to be more active in lvling be the puller. pulling is fun, but also sometimes tireing. esp if you pull for a 4hr pt.

it gets boring and tedious yes...

try doing something else than going back to exping.

well what do you do exactly, i mean what do you do personally when u play as a dark, your routine.

when people play as drk, during the middle of a fight they use macros. everything is done by macros.

ie. first battle. berserk, spam tp, renki,drain.
next battle, last resort, spam tp, aspir.
next battle, berserk, drain, spam tp, renki.
next battle, soul eater, spam tp, renki, drain.

this is how it goes... you can switch berserk with sneak for a thief, and add sneak to every battle. you will probably sneak 2-3 times per battle. its the same for all classes, everything is tedious.

ie. rdm
enfeeble, enfeeble, refresh, cure, cure, refresh, enfeeble.
ie. thief
berserk(if war sub.. if not then they usually don't do anything.), sneak/trick, wait 1 minute, sneak/trick/renki.
ie. pld
provoke, flash,defender, cure, cure, sentinal, cure, provoke, cure, flash.
next battle, provoke, flash, defender, shield bash, cure, cure, cure, provoke, cure, fash, cure.

this game is repetitive.

Work on ur synthesizing...I know....It sounds boring...But I actually have quite a bit of fun cooking. lol.

Visit newbie areas, and train MAASSSIIVVEE trains with poisonga, then take em out with an AoE weapon skill. That's always fun and good gil making spam.

Go NM hunting, and by NM *hunting*...I don't mean sit at leaping lizzy for 2 hours...hoping it spawns infront of you...I mean go and *FIND* NM's that no one camps...one's that don't really drop good stuff, but are fun to kill.

Challenge yourself. Play solo for a bit as a DRK/WHM and see what the hardest area you can solo in is. So far mine is Qufim...But that's cuz I'm only lvl 33...lol.

Get together with your LS buddies and go on expeditionary forces...those are kinda weird cuz it just sends you to random places where you need to take control of, as your region.

Ride airships and boats back and forth...lol...you only gotta pay once. The selbina ship is kinda fun when ur a bit higher because u can fight the ghosts and have all the n00bs cheer you on as they die. lol....

Just do random things that You think would be fun...So far...the funnest thing I've done...by choice...was going into Garlaige Citadel, the place that I'm currently lvling good in. And there is these holes in the grounds that u can fall thru, and there is really hard guys down below...W - E - L - L...I decided that I wanted to see what it was like...so I jumped down a hole one day...and snuck around like 50 lvl 60+ mobs...and just hid out...eventually it was wicked cuz I got to see a really huge NM, Serket. Who drops a ring that is worth 1.8 million gil on my server...lol...

Basically just do random things that you think will be fun...
