  • DRK/WAR vs THF/WAR

I have heard from high levels that THF/WAR can acutally out damage DRK/WAR.

I am going to quit this game any way lol i wanted to be drk but i am not going to level 2 subjobs just so i can have a good main one.

I talked to a bunch of high levels who say Dancing edge hits for 1000 damage on a IT mob and Guillo hits for 800.

Thieves can deal massive damage once every minute, while Dark Knights continuously deal out a lot of damage.

No, you didn't want to start as a THF. I'm kicking my own ass for doing it. Warrior is a pain to level up now, no good low level parties. I should have went THF to 20, WAR to 30. All in hindsight though. *sigh*

i have war sub at lv 31 and thf at lv 29, i tried drk/thf at lv 37.

what i noticed was that sneak does do a great amout of dmg and might even surpass war in terms of dmg until lv 50 drk (double swing +lifebelt shoud make drk/war surpass drk/thf in terms of dmg and tp build).

however, sneak attack imbalances the hate so much that it might not be worth the effort. hell, because of this, i wouldn't be surprised if drk/thf died more often than drk/war.

I sure hope that people aren't looking for DRK/THF's. If they are, then i'm screwed. The only reason I would sub thief is if i'm farming. I'm just not a fan of it. I'd rather play a warrior anyday.

                drk/war is fine.
                drk/thf is fine.

hell, i saw a taru drk/rdm on our server named outlv me, he had no trouble finding a PT.

but i imagine this will change when I lv up some more'

                  MNK's Kuumei > Dancing edge = 500 + 1000 + 400

                  Guillotine > Raging Rush = 600 + 400 + 250

Guillotine and raging rush you can do 2~3 times a fight. Kuumei and Dancing take a whole fight to charge up; sometimes you'll even have to "save." Considering how powerful magic bursting is now, multiple small skillchains > one big skillchain.

Also, at 66, Spinslash on a DRK/THF does almost as much damage as sharkbite (and they have the same position on skillchain), except that souleater is more useful for chaining and DRK's consistent damage is higher.

Guillotine isn't really that strong without souleater, and even with, it's not the most amazing thing in the world. Occasionally you'll be a in party where your skillchain + MB takes away 1/2 of the monster's HP bar, and it's inefficient to blow it. In this case, you use guillo to help finish up the fight as you'll be back up in TP from 50% in no time. There's also times when your skillchain partner hits a missing spree, and you spam to get 100% and your friend goes "43% /cry," then you guillo solo and be at 50%, so you can still skillchain in time.

THF is really in their own league, they hold a different role in parties from other damage dealers. Though they do less damage overall in a party, they're nuking WS and the skillchain makes it possible to chain higher for more exp. After level 66, DRK takes over that role, but that's besides the point
