explanation on arcana pls?

i was under the impression its spell casters, but im not sure. can someon clarify this for me

Bombs/Grenades are arcana.

I'm still skeptical about elementals being Arcana. In all of the elementals i've fought since lv.25, i've yet to see "The ... elemental is intimidated by Delphyn's presences." Even if i use circle. It seems to happen pretty often for other killer/circle abilities, it seems like in the 20-30 elementals i've defeated, i'd have seen that message at least once.

Has anyone actually seen this message with elems, or is speculation? i've seen several others say elems are arcana too, so i'm pretty curious if i've just been unlucky, or if they aren't related.

i don't think elementals are arcana either.. never got that "intimidate" sentance when i fought them.. i think they are just what their name implies an element. :spin: :spin:

basically arcana monsters are monsters that are magical. in a sense all monsters are magical, but these arcana monsters are more magical.... :sweat: lol kinda didnt make sense.. uh.. monsters created through magic not sex?

Ok, that's decent info, but has anyone actually confirmed that Elementals are arcana? As in, have you seen with your own eyes the new message that "The ... Elemental is intimidated by ...'s presence"? A lot of info floating around is true, but a lot is also false. I'm still curious. Certainly somebody has seen the message pop up if they truly are arcana.

never seen it once. and i got hit by elmentas plenty of times, they didn't just cast spells.

Dancing Weapons are the same thing as Evil Weapons right?

A week or so ago I fought one in a group... I'd read it was Arcana so I jumped at the chance to hit Arcane Circle for once... then something weird happened...

I was looking out for the "Intimitdated" message (not sure how this works, but I assumed it would happen when I was fighting an arcana mob? I was about lvl 23 or 24 at this point)...

Then I saw an "Intimidated" message... but the name wasnt mine... it was the Ninja/Warrior in the group... this make any sense?

I fought a Dancing Weapon in Qufim and got the message more than a few times.

If you aren't getting aggro from the monster (i.e. taking hits), you are far less likely to get the message.

And about the NIN/WAR... if you cast circle, then everyone in your group gets the effect, so anyone in your group can intimidate an Arcana type monster.

Out of interest, does this mean Drks tank Arcana mobs better than normal tanking classes?

When a drk used his arcana circle a gob's bomb seemed to do less damage. So I kinda wonder if it has a shell-like effect too.

After thinking about it i've come to draw a conclusion that whatever detects magic is arcana. Since everything listed under arcana will react and aggro to magic casting. As for why it doesn't react to Elementals i don't know i'll have to check for myself.
