Is It Worth It??

I dont know if I should be posting this here but as a future Drk Im just wondering if this game gets any better. Im a lvl 20war/10mnk trying to find a group in Qufim. Ive spent many hours on multiple days waiting for a group. Is this what I have to look forward to at the higher lvls or does it get better? I get more interaction from the NPCs than i do from the PCs.

Im just looking for some hope that this game does get better.

Being a DRK will not improve your chance of getting a group, it may actualy decrease it. I find getting groups is just as random and getting a ruby to drop of leeches. Sometimes I log in and I get 2 or 3 invites as soon as I seek party. And some days I have my seek flag up for hours and nothing. At least now with my rank 5 I can go around do fishing and other tradeskills while seeking so I'm stuck in jeuno anymore.

If you want to get into parties more, just make more friends or join a linkshell.

Ah yes Qufim is horrible. Worst part of the game. Once your through it.. everything seems so much better.

Some friends I know have thought about quitting because of not getting invites. Heh I think one actually did when he didnt get an invite for an entire week.

You think Qufim is bad, just wait till you get the airship pass to level up in Khazam... It was so horrible i decided to level up theif sub...

Finding a party is difficult, I usually have the TV on, I think DRK/WAR should be beter than plan WAR ppl like provokers but they don't need 4 WAR, DRK does great dmg.

There are many ways to find a party for example:

- Run around with flag, ppl like to have instant replacements often.

- Do search on the area for existing parties and message the PT leaders if they got room for you, they usually msg you back once they have room for you. (ex. if you lvl 22 do "/sea 21-23" or something like that)

- When you shout for LFG use filters so you get the green and red brackets to make it stand out in the message log

- Have friends and ask LS ppl for parties

- Put search comments in.

- when you are in a party talk nice and be nice, complain to much and everyone in the PT will remember you and will not PT you in the future.

- Find a PT at the right time, for example, on non holiday weekdays its really hard to find party in the afternoon so I do quest and farm gil. At night when it's prime time partying becomes much easier.


I'm sure there are more ways to increase chance of PT, Good Luck!

i guess being a pld i cant bitch since we are needed but in my pts that i usually make i always look for a drk as melee then after that option is gone a drg or mnk, after that a war . But in all honesty try making your own, and dont just look for ppl who have flags up lets say you need a whm bust out a /sea all whm 20-22 and see if there are any whms who are not on seek but are not questing or cooking or something else and ask them. Alot of times they will say yes. (ppl have a hard time turning down good exp)

Everyone says Qufim and Kazham suck, but they've been the fastest levels for me....meh.


Ofcourse Dark Knight is worth it. If you think its not because of parties, you shouldn't be one. I'd be a DRK if they had -1 hp and 0mp.

Really though, it just depends on if you get lucky or not. I can usually get invites the instant I put my flag up, but sometimes...ug. Its long. All jobs have times when they can't get a party, it seems, other than the WHM and BLMs. If all else fails, get whatever's on the LFP list and go do something. My group was chaining 200xp+ with no WHM, a paladin was our main healer, RDM back up. Then we got a BLM to replace our NIN, and he healed a bit.

just stick with it dude, i've got some high level friends (DRK/THF, DRK/WAR, and DRK/RDM) and they say they have no trouble finding parties anymore...

besides, dude...you could always turn into a BRD/WHM

When I lead parties I get a lot of /tell messages like that, it helps because then you don't have to go searching when someone in your group takes off after gaining a level. The other day a Bard/whm asked if I had room which I just happened to have a spot open, so yeah
