At earlier levels i dotn even think it makes much of a difference what weapon you use, but i think it might be smarter to stick with scythe and greatsword. The other dark probably just likes 1h swords over scythes/great swords maybe or just wants to work on that skill its ok and in fact, even better to level up more than one weapon to be more efficent in PTs.

Well if you were a melee character before you took on Dark Knight then the evade stats have transferred over... If not, leveling up evade will come when you solo and start to get hit a bit; But Evade should be an afterthought to the dark knight at times, because if you get a good party (this is after your initial soloing period 1-12) you will not get hit that much... Also there is not much point for raising sword and shield... especially in the later levels... Since you specialize in Scythe and Great Sword... The guy was probably experimenting or something... But thats also what this game about; experimenting and playing how you want... Good Luck and may the Darkness Aid you

if you're going to become drk, you're going to have to lvl up a sub.. most PpL like war sub at earlier lvls, so of course your evasion and parry skills will go up. as for sword and shield, they're just good skills to have for pld/war/thf/etc. when you lvl them up. stick with scythe and great sword for drk though.. i didn't lvl up great sword and now i'm paying the price  ...great sword skill is lvl 60 while i'm lvl 36.. I MISS A LOT

yeah, i'd say forget the 1h swords, and start on ur 2h and scythe skills early...that's what u need:spin:

I'm almost to vorperal and my GS level is 3-4 levels behind, everytime i try to use my GS my PT tells me to go back to scythe. I've seen LS skill up events mentioned on the boards but i've never seen one and dont really know what its about. Should i just forget about GS till 65 and then level it up to 225? Anyone else having this problem?

If you party with a theif a lot, chances are you will need to take aggro at some point so the theif can use fuidama on the tank. This is a great way to keep your evasion/parry up (my evasion is almost capped). Another way is to join skill up parties fighing mobs that don't hit too hard and convice the group to let you tank:spin: It's actually not that bad, throw on some phalanx rings and use absorb-VIT and you'll be a half-decent tank. For leveling up multiple weapons and/or keeping your magic skills up to date, skill up parties are also the best way to go. If you're working on magic though, make sure you have a bard/red mage in the group to keep your mp flowing
