Dissapointed DRK fan
Ok right now im just a level 12 WAR and i was aiming for DRK. You guys have probably gone over this but i was wondering is there any way to save a DRK from hate since yodokama is gone? And yeah i know its completely dead but i dont want to have to join partys that have 2 tanks.

Flash :p It rocks. A good PLD is unstoppable.
Besides, think about it. Without yokodama, what's the only way to fuidama on the tank? By getting hate :p -
I think i understood what you jsut said. But does that mean to keep THF as a sub or does it leave SAM the only one available?

I think he means that by doing so much damage the monster starts going after you. With the monster's back on the tank, the thf has an easy go at using trick+sneak behind the said tank to bring back aggro.

I'm personally happy that I can go DRK/WAR for life again, every DRK/THF over 60 has also returned to their roots, DRK/WAR

Yeah I second that Hisdon. I'm not 60 yet, and have a few weeks ahead of me before I am, but, I REALLY didn't want to have to go drk/thf. If anything I was going to go Drk/Sam.
What's a more Viable combo now, Drk/War, or Drk/Sam. Or do they both match in valuable-ness. Because I like having double attack and the defense/attack bonuses with /War.★ RDM 51 / BLM 37 ★

/WAR gives some nasty shit, lvl 30 you'll notice
Berserk usually doubles my damage, for 3 minutes
Dual Swing is gonna own when I get it
Passive attack and defence bonuses
Provoke, like I've said before, even if only for a few secounds a mob is on you, you've saved someone's life (or sacrificed yourself to save the pt)
SAM gives..meh same status as DRK/WAR with less STR and barely any more DEX
Meditate does half as much when subbed
TP store does very little =/

It's the curse of a Dark Knight. It is the very reason we have to hold back. If we had an ability that could remove hate, similar to Dragoons, then we would decimate anything in our path. Dragoons would no longer compare to our strength. If we didn't have to hold back.....but we do.
Like Awntawn said, a good PLD can keep the hate. I was fighting at Qufim with a good PLD and he still kept the hate after I used Last Resort coupled with Slice. It never moved off the PLD. This was the same with the white mage. The white mage casted cure2 almost throughout the entire battle.....never moved from the PLD. One of the other warriors even tried to provoke it off of him (he was getting low), but to no avail. Provoke did nothing. Needless to say, I was impressed. Don't forget our Paladin friends.Varo

Hmm you mean Trick attack + guillotine (or what ever WS) doesn't work for Drk/Thf anymore?
If the pt doesn't have a THF wouldn't it better to transfer hate yourself?

How else would the party transfer hate if it didn't have a THF....or do you mean with a subjob THF. Because if that's the case, then yeah it wouldbe easier. But...it's harder to transfer hate off of yourself with /THF, than it is to just transfer it in general isn't it?...★ RDM 51 / BLM 37 ★

wouldn't SAM be much better than WAR? You get tons of tp that is NOT wasted as was stated earlier. With a sam sub, you can guillo by yourself, and also chain with the thf because of the fast TP... you arent waiting for anything. I'm confused on which to use now.. I just finished leveling my thf sub all the way to 37, and I hope it isnt useless now. I'm going to get my war up to 37 from 30, or start sam from 0.. I just dont know what to do
