100 kill confusion

I did some searches and read thru a lot of msgs but i'm still confused,

can i log off in the middle of my 100+ kill? some beta players said yes, do i have to kill only in zeruhn mine? or can i go kill in front of bastok like one person said,

and it looks like WS doesn't count as a kill, i was very disappointed when i didn't get the cutscene.

if you're not sure of the answer please don't reply, i want to hear from people that have actual experience or know for a fact

Yes, you can log off during the middle of the quest, and it doesn't matter where you hunt, as long as you use the sword to deal the finishing blow on the monster.

As far as not being able to use Weapon Skills goes, I used weapon skills while I was doing the quest and I got the cutscene at the end, but I killed about 125 monsters before going to Bedo to spare myself grief so, yeah.

You can kill the monsters in any zone, I killed mine in South Gustxxxx. I also think you can have a break between kills but not 100% sure. Mobs killed by WS should count towards the 100, but not 100% either.

The point is just kill about 120 or something and then you'll be right. I know I killed over 200 because I did 2 sets of about 110 each.

lol... you have to kill 100 mobs without the weapon skills... dont kill mobs with weaponskill it will not count...lol
and i logged a couple times during the middle of the quest so yes you can stop and stuff.. fastest is being a war with blm sub. cast stone then kill itll be 2 times faster because the delay of the sword really sucks balls. and any other questions about the quest is in the forum just look around ^^

and since i dont know how to edit posts... easiest place to do it is south gustaberg cus there are easy mobs there. dont try to get xp with the sword cus best bet is you'll die

I think the confusion lies in the fact that the main source of kills in south gustaberg are huge hornets. They use an attack called final sting committing suicide in the process. If the hornet dies in this manner I can only imagine it doesnt count toward your 100 kills. This is just a theory, but I HAVE done the quest and I DID kill hornets. However I observed the final sting and decided not to count them towards my 100 and I had no problems with the quest.

I used my lvl 30 warrior to kill anything in site in the sandoria newbie zones. I killed about 120 things to be safe.

About 2 weeks later I took the sword to Zeid and finished the quest. So yes, they can be lvl 1 mobs and they count.

You can change zones, log off, use WS, and anything else as long as YOU get the kill with the CHAOSBRINGER equipped. I've used a WS to kill off a monster, I've zoned, I've killed too weak monsters, I've logged off, I've even switched jobs to get to Beauxdeau.

i can add to that confirmation u can zone and logoff to finish the quest, i am now a DRK, i hope the scyth isn't like the chaos bringer, it takes forever to attack with that thing,

i love my great sword, but i think i will switch to scyth now

Deathbringer is a level 5 GS exclusively for Drk, and its black too!

Apparently you can kill the monster with any WS that counts as a physical attack (it gives you back TP)... guaranteed-hit ones and multi-hit don't count.
