who's optomistic of new weapon skill combo's for DK's?

It just my thinking that with dark knights incompatibility in parties that square might just do something to help dark knights be more useful in a party. Anyone else agree that square will probably do something in a patch sooner or later? or do u think that they won't do that for fear that everyone might decide to be a dark knight because of that?

What would make it all better (but probably won't happen) is to give Vorpal Scythe a potential 4x damage modifier like the one RNG's sidewinder has. It makes sense if you think about it, since 4 pillars come out of the ground...

I seriously doubt that DRK will be getting any better WS's anytime soon; Guillotine is the peak, and we probably won't be seeing anything better for a long time, just a whole bunch of crappy stuff (Cross Reaper for instance. Also, maybe it's just me, but Spiral Web 250 sounds like just another area based attack, which is stupid...).

well, i wouldn't mind a 1-hitter that did a lot of damage. high evade monsters really destroy guillo :/

anyhow, if guillo linked w/ dancing that would be like a redmage-style makeover for drk, lol.

2h swords are gonna kick Scyths in the ass...last night on the final event, there was a level 81 DRK/NIN...he did 500 with Sicklemoon(!) if they only get a weapon skill that hits harder, it'll be all good

and Ancient Magic is...meh...they cast it once a battle for 500 damage...and a DRK will do around 100-150 a hit, see the difference?

Ancient Magic takes forever to cast and does around 900 damage (500 if resisted). Also drains MP like hell; it's more worth it to just cast 4 normal spells i believe. All I know is that they're totally impractical, they're just there to look cool and make black mages feel powerful.

Black mages are a primary source of damage until the upper levels when all of the classes get their high damage, multi-hit-TP charge WS's, then they become, basically, just the free trip home with dezone 2. Basically, in a THF party, the monster is hitting PLD most of the time, so just one healer will do, and they get BLM to deal extra damage and MB (THF PT is renkei/MB dependant, otherwise it will have trouble with killing speed). Otherwise, melees will be more than sufficient in dealing damage, and they'd just need more MP for healing, so they'd prolly go WHM RDM BRD (whereas THF PLD party would go WHM BLM BRD)

I think if I raise my summons high enough I think I should be able to take a Warrior/Dark Knight fairly well. Atleast enough to nuke him pretty good. I hope so. Cause I wanna beat him so bad!
