  • Opinions Please...

Ok, so i want to be a DRK/RDM...and I want to get DRK fast...real fast! heh so...here's what im thinking....tell me what u think, or how i could get to DRK faster.

    Train firstly as a WAR...until lvl 12.
    Train secondly as a RDM/WAR....until RDM=18.
    Train thirdly as a WAR/RDM....until WAR=30.

And lastly...Train DRK/RDM. until my hearts content. With a few other lvls of random things here and there...heh...

Would I be able to do this?, if not...what's stopping me, or if you have any faster ways to train WAR/RDM/DRK...and get to DRK as fast as i can. Thanks in advance.

To be honest, the fastest way is to go with an unlevelled sub up to 30 This is what I did, though it's not good morally. Still, I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't at least say that

Train firstly as a WAR...until lvl 12. No prob here
Train secondly as a RDM/WAR....until RDM=18. No subjobs until level 18 when you do the subjob quest, sorry
Train thirdly as a WAR/RDM....until WAR=30. Go ahead

And lastly...Train DRK/RDM. until my hearts content. With a few other lvls of random things here and there...heh... Sure, but war sub will get you further in the lower levels because that's when you can still tank. Come around level 30 is when your tanking ability turns shit. Just put that you have both subs in your comment and change depending on how YOU see fit. Also, with your plan, your RDM will be left at 18, so once you hit 36 you're gonna have to level sub again...

Would I be able to do this?, if not...what's stopping me, or if you have any faster ways to train WAR/RDM/DRK...and get to DRK as fast as i can. Thanks in advance. Other than minor game mechanic flaws, you can do anything you want No one's ever gonna pull you out of the game and say "whoa stop, you can't do that." Eventually you're gonna have a whole bunch of jobs levelled anyways that the order doesn't really matter.

However, even though DRK/RDM is useful for some scenarios, I gotta say that it's not good for a main sub  Until 60, WAR is the main sub, and RDM or WHM is just the "have at ready just in case." After 60, there is no main sub for DRK, it all depends on the party configuration.

True, it's all in opinion, but it's that kind of that universal-type opinion that should be made a fact only it can't be because it would be wrong, like "chocolate tastes good." It's a fact if you live by the philosophy of "if the whole world thinks something is right, then it's right," which I do

      Hmm...interesting. Ok...Thanks very much awntawn.

So here's the overall synopsis of it all from what I understood.

Level WAR until lvl 30, straight out....then get the DRK quest done, which will be uber easy at lvl 30 WAR, then...continue lvling as my heart desires, but keep WAR in the top ranks as a sub job....I still want to be fairly high in RDM, if not even with WAR, so...I guess your right, they all end up bein just levels anyways, order don't matter much when ur higher up.

Ok. overview = WAR til 30, get DRK quest, lvl as wanted.... Thanks dude.

EDIT: Ahhh...uses for RDM/WAR...a thought...If PT has 1-3 mages already, sub WAR correct, and if PT has a bunch of melee, and none or 1 mage, sub RDM?....

By unlevelled sub, I mean take it up a bit, but don't get so mind-set on it; if you're sick of it, then by all means stop for a bit. Eventually, unlevelled subs become a horrible horrible thing, but at low levels I don't think it matters that much

RDM/WAR is only good for soloing at lower levels, in parties RDM should always sub another mage job. They'll invite you as RDM/WAR, but that's only because they can't find another mage  (mages are high in demand and low in supply... probably because it's so boring to play)

Hmm ok. So basically, if I want to level my RDM, I should sub BLM or something like that...doh...but then BLM is only lvl 1 and can't be lvled while it's a sub.

Hmm...at one point in time, im going to have to be BLM/RDM, to lvl my BLM up a little...and then, Ill move on to being a RDM/(WH or BLM), depends whats needed in the group....and THEN I'll level my DRK with whatever sub is needed....cuz RDM and BLM and WAR will all be around the same level.

I make this so confusing. Thanks again for help awn.
