    Why at sixty?
    Why not at 30
if you do it at sixty you'll go back to level one and have to re-level all the way to 60.
30 would be much better, right after you get it you can be it.
I would want a summoner in my party, that would be cool, especially with the exspansion
    because of the new summons.

be atleast 60 in 1 job is good for 1 reason, so you're able to beat the summons and obtain them for your SMN ^^
if you switch to SMN right away at level 30 all you can summon would be the poor little carbunkle :D

Makes sense, but I don't think 60 is needed. Maybe 45-50.
And then get some good summons and level up summoner.
I'm glad I don't want to be a summoner, seems too complicated :spin:.

^^ no way. battle with summons are extremely hard. even a full 65 PT can easily die if the pan goes wrong.

Nameless, you're confused. You can switch between jobs any time during the game without losing any of the levels you gained. So if you switch from a level 60 BLM to a level 1 SMN, you can go back to your Mog House and switch baxk to your level 60 BLM anytime.

Final Fantasy XI would be a very miserable game to play if you lost all the levels you earned if you changed jobs.

I think Nadyxes makes some good points here.

LVL 60+ is the requirment to kill SUMMONS.

SUMMONS DO 1000-2000 DAMAGE to lvl 60+ if not wearing the right equip and songs and etc....

AGAIN i state 60+ is a most for obtaining summons.
This is squares way of saying have fun.

No I'm not confused, you are confused as to what I am saying.
I was saying that if he wanted to be a summoner then he could switch right away.
I didn't know that summons were so difficult, so I thought he could beat them in low levels.
My comment about leveling all the way back to 60 was if he switched to summoner he would have to go to level sixty to be at his old level with a new job.
I was trying to say maybe he would like to level summoner right when he gets it not lose levels.
