Ice/Dark Staves, how do these prices compare?

HQ Ice Staff on Carbuncle-1.1mil or so
HQ Dark Staff on Carbuncle-600k. I might just skip Dark Staff and go with Pluto's Staff, who knows, maybe I'll have the money, I probably have to get an Astral Ring or two though right? Is it necessary? I'm hum

Anyway about elemental magic skill, it's weird but yeah it is accuracy for magic. The thing is, when melee's miss they just MISS, when we miss it's like it does half damage or something, which irritates me but hey at least it's damage.

If you notice the help text at the top of your screen when highlighting elemental seal, it says the accuracy of your next spell will increase.

Not that it makes the spell do a ton more damage, but just more damage that it's already capable of doing.

BTW, I got to lvl 20 today woot.

Another thing to note -

Each of the staves GREATLY increases the accuracy of the spells of the corresponding element. With Thunder Staff, I landed every thunder III I cast save 2 (4 hour exp party). With Water Staff, I had similiar results with Water IV. This is in addition to the 10% damage bonus. So yeah...the staves are EVEN BETTER than people make them out to be.

Ice was 200K when I bought it. Last time I checked it was 140k. HQ remains over 1 mil.

Same as what you'd get from dark staff. +10MP per click. The difference is you get a +15% on drain and aspir, as to dark staff's +10%.

It's not much improvement, the moey would helped me more If I went for ice + lightning + dark instead of ice + pluto.... meh.


What's done is done. Since I plan to eventually go all HQ anyways, guess it will be all the same in the end.

pluto is an item that has that "glam" to it. as you know, high lvl HQ items generally sell for 4, even 5 times the amount of the actual regular synth, therefore, most people ASSUME Pluto stafff is an expensive item (1-2mill+) and it makes you feel gud ::

On Alexander, Ice staff been droping, and droping....

Dark staff droped alot faster then ice's since more people have use it..

150,000ish Now

Well i started my savingins again.. Aquilo's staff soon will be mine, just a Million or so to go

Not sure about dark staff, but Ice Staff is down to 178k on Fenrir.

Edit: As of 7/25 Ice staff was down to 160k and Dark is at 230-240k.

On Phoenix, the Ice Staff seems to have stabalized at ~80k while the Dark Staff is currently going for ~175k.

I'm on Diabolos and all staff prices have been droping. The dark staff is now down to around 180k and the ice staff around 230k. The Aquilo's Staff is down to 1.2 mil and the Pluto's Staff is down to 500k. I currently have all my elemental staffs including the Pluto's and Aquilo's staffs. I love my Aquilo's staff. =P:. <-- drool
I hit with freeze for 1000+ dmg and thats without a MB.
My spells are rarely resisted thanks to my /equip macro on all my spells.

I was thinking about doing the same thing on my BLM and buying the ice staff and dark staff once i get the money but the prices are dropping so i will wait. I think the ice staff is going for 150k on seraph and the dark staff in going for 240k. All the other elemental staves are around 200-220k i believe i need to check that again though. As a blm i wouldn't mind having all the elemental staves i would bring the ones the mobs i am exping on are weak againest though. That will be costly but be worth it i'm sure.

Spork your missing the wind staff in your picture you probably have it but i'm just saying. :p 2.4 million O.o i need to farm once i get higher level. Now i wish i didn't delete my dragoon i could have more money.

OMG thats cheap
but on my server it dropped to 160k So I totally think I'm gonna wait and buy these... at least wait until I'm around lvl 40 (lvl 29 right now, I got two levels yesterday)..

If this is a widespread trend I see the prices only dropping.

Picked up my Ice for 50k (how sick are those people that bought it for half a mil now lol) and Dark for 120k.

Erroneously I bought a light staff for my blm (I also levelled WHM to 40, thought it would come in handy someday) for 100k, sold it back to someone over AH a couple of days later, in 60 SECONDS for 111111gil. Needless to say that there were only a couple of light staves left, and mine was obviously a lower price.

Fastest damn sale Ive ever had.

i checked the value of everything i own...altogether, 1.15 million. funny, since i spent 1.2 on my ice and dark staves alone about 9 months ago . every single one of my staves are down to under 100k :mad: .
