  • Spikes

OK I have another question. Since I am a blm, my money is always scarce cuz I can't farm as well as a war or anyother melee job, but that isn't the point. The point is besides buying it at the AH, where can I get Ice Spikes? And, eventhough I can't learn it yet, Shock Spikes.

Now don't say " you don't need it cuz you shouldn't be getting hit in the first place," well I know that but I would like them all the same.

Any and all help would be apreciated.

Ice Spikes is available via BCNM 40, and from the Phantoms that occasionally appear on the ship from Mhaura->Selbina. Which leads to where you can get Shock Spikes (Selbina).

Thanks I haven't been to Selbina in a while and forgot that I could buy shock spikes there. Thanks for reminding me. And thanks for the ice spikes location now i have to work on getting it probably from the ship from Selbina -> Mahura and vice versa. Thanks alot.

Ugh... I may be wrong here. But the mob that drops the scroll on the ship is a bit high for your lvl. I am guessing you aren't about 30 yet.

Phantom can badly hurt a level 30 BLM, atleast I know that much.

Anyways, Shock Spikes are sold at either high level magic shops, THis means either in Selbina on the stairs, or in Southern Windurst Waters.

Shock spikes works a lot better then ice. Ice spikes inflict paralyze, while Shock spikes stun.

Btw, BLM's farm just fine. You just gotta know what to hunt. ^^

I for the ice spikes, I was figuring I get a LS buddy that is at lvl 50 come with me and party on the boat ride, that way my lvl23 self doesn't get pounded into a black spot on the side of the ship.

I figured that sparks spikes is better but since I lvling against crabs in Qufim, i figured that until I get to lvl 30, that ice spikes would do better against the crabs then blaze spikes since crabs are weak against ice and thunder elementals.

Thanks for the warning on my boat ride and thanks for more input.

                  P.S. -

I figured Blms could farm but I need to update my -ga spells and need to find the right mob. I can only use stonaga, watarga, and aeraga as of now at my present state so my choice of prey is a little slim.

Go to giddus, second tier yagudo will fall and fall fast.

Just set up a macro to

                    /ma "Stonega" <t>
                    /wait 2
                    /ma "Aeroga" <t>
                    /wait 2
                    /ma "Waterga" <t>

Just do that up to about 10 or a little more yagudo and they should drop. Sell the necklaces. Or turn the necklaces into Grass Cloth.

I personally find -ga farming a bit too slow and sluggish. I perfer to just use my staff and Earth Crusher my way through mobs. I drain and Aspir when I need HP/MP, and only nuke when things get iffy.

This way I can just keep on going. ^^
