  • What else should I look for?

    Hey all, currently I have a 6/3 Blm/Rdm and here is the gear I have for him (when he reaches said level(s))-

    Astral Ring (25HP->MP)
    Ermites Ring+1 (+3 INT)
    Night Cape
    2x Energy Earrings

    I'm Elvaan, but I plan to see how good of a Blm I can be. I normally play as a Ranger/War (which is why I was able to shell out this much gil ) but I thought this might be a fun diversion for when I get bored constantly spamming arrows or farming. What else should I look for? Money as long as it's below 500k won't be a problem..I've farmed enough to 500k once before, I can do it once again for my Blm. I know INT is important to a Blm, but I'm elvaan...should I sell the Astral and go for another INT+3? Or are there other equips/slots that give me a nice INT boost?

    EDIT: Apple pies rule.

    2 Astral rings are needed for Galka and Elvaan. Other than that.. just look around. Not many +INT stuff for most slots at low levels. I recommend a black neckercheif which is around level 14 or so. You get a ton of +INTs at 30-40. Goodies there are Black Cape +1, Morion Earrings, Mage's Robe etc.
    Kuno's super cool stats!

      A tactic many mages use is to start with +MP rings and then switch to +Int rings after you've spent that MP.

          The macro I use is the following:

          Every time I finish casting, I hit my resting macro, which is the following:
          /equip "Main" "Dark Staff"
          /equip "Ring1" "Electrum Ring"
          /equip "Ring2" "Electrum Ring"

          Then, on every one of my nuke macro's, I have the following:
          /ma "Nuke III" <stnpc> (<stnpc> is not needed. I do it as a backup so I don't accidently nuke a surrounding mob)
          /equip "Main" "Ice Staff"
          /equip "Ring1" "Eremite's Ring"
          /equip "Ring2" "Eremite's Ring"

          I always open up fights by using Shock, Burn (or frost if my spells are landing easy or the melee are having accuracy issues), and if possible, Bio II. Those macro's don't have anything other than the spell casting line. So, I use up any of the extra mp I'd gain on spells that don't really require int for anything...then switch over to my nuking gear and proceed to nuke.

          I tried doing it manually for a while, but I found that I forgot to switch between my ring sets a lot of the time...so now I just have everything macro'd automatically...except the resting one...but that's just one key press for 3 equip switches.

          I'm also considering doing the same between casting with a moldavite/wizard's earring and 2 morion earrings. I don't really think the extra +2 int is worth it....but w/e, I'll give it a try after I manage to finish paying off my dark staff ; ;
